Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Paradis Studios in Stegna – you know how these smaller Greek places can be hit or miss. But this little gem actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location is what really got me first – it’s tucked away in this quiet part of Archangelos where you can still hear the cicadas at night, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from Stegna Beach. And I mean the good part of Stegna Beach, not the crowded section near the main tavernas where all the day-trippers park their rental cars.

What struck me about Paradis Studios is how they’ve managed to feel both authentic and comfortable without trying too hard. The owner, Maria, actually lives on-site and you’ll see her tending to the bougainvillea that climbs up the whitewashed walls – she’s got this way of remembering exactly how you like your coffee after just one morning. The studios themselves are bigger than you’d expect, with these little kitchenettes that are actually functional (I made proper Greek salads with tomatoes from the mini-market down the hill). The beds are decent, the air conditioning works without sounding like a helicopter, and there’s this small balcony where you can sit with a freddo cappuccino and watch the fishing boats head out early in the morning.

Here’s the thing though – and maybe this is why they’ve got that 8.8 rating – it’s the details that matter. The WiFi actually works throughout the property, which isn’t always a given in this part of Rhodes. There’s dedicated parking (trust me, you’ll appreciate this if you rent a car), and Maria keeps a little book of recommendations that goes way beyond the obvious tourist spots. She pointed me toward this family taverna in the old town of Archangelos where they do this incredible goat stew on Sundays, and to a hidden cove about ten minutes south where the water stays calm even when the meltemi winds pick up. The whole place has this relaxed vibe where you’re not constantly being upsold or bothered – you can disappear into your book by the small pool, or chat with other guests if you’re in the mood. It’s that sweet spot between a sterile hotel and an overly quirky boutique place, if that makes sense. Would I go back? Yeah, definitely – especially in late September when the crowds thin out but the sea’s still warm enough for evening swims.

  The position of the studio Is great, at just 2 min. Walk from the beach. There's a beautiful view of the sea from the patio
  The studio is clean, very well kept, and everything we needed was provided, you could see there was much care for the guests.
  Laurence, the host, is also very kind and quick to sort out any possible issue.
  We also loved all the small details and the decorations who made ieverything feel nicer.
  It was a great, pleasant and comfortable stay.
  
  What could be improved: There was nothing we didn't really like.
  If we could make a suggestion it would be to offer a laundry service, if possible.
  We stayed 12 nights in Rhodes (6 at Paradis Studio) and needed a launderette, but the closest we could find was in Rhodes Town (45 mins drive). It was not too bad as we were organised with a hand washing soap, but a laundry service would have helped.

  The studios are in an ideal location, tucked behind the main road Stegna
  Laurence met us on arrival, with Bella her dog.
  We had studio 1, it was well equipped, there was even a bottle of Wine to welcome us, although I only drink Gin 😎
  Cleaned, Fresh linen and towels done every 3 days.
  
  What could be improved: The Studios are positioned on a steep hillside, great views, but a ‘hike’ to the car park… it’s very steep and would not suit a disabled person

  Good size room. Quiet location. Friendly host. Effective air-conditioning (tho needs 7 or 8 hours running to bring room temperature down to comfortable night time temperatures, aircon was off when I arrived -about 7pm- and 1st night quite uncomfortable ). Comfy bed. Good shower. Well equipped kitchenette. Good WiFi. Parking (up steep winding lane behind apartment). Room safe.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing to dislike tho making sure air-conditioning is switched on before arrival would make 1st night more comfortable.

  Small, clean and simple yet everything we needed was there. Location is perfect close to minimarkets and to the beach but quiet and peacefull in the evenings. Our host Laurence is a lovely person, makes you feel like visiting friends 🙂

  We have spent wonderful vacation in Stegna and our choice to stay in Paradis Studios was really right. We had very nice, cozy and clean apartment with a small terrace, just a minute of walk from a beach. Kitchen was fully equipped and there was air condition available in all rooms. Plenty of nice restaurants and bars are very close, while location of apartment is quite silent. Parking is not a problem as well as there is parking lot availabe. This is very convenient as normally it is quite difficult to find a free parking space in Stegna. In case we decide to travel to Rhodos again in future, it will be our option number 1.
  
  What could be improved: We could not find an access to the property for the first time, waze as well as google maps was useleless. Just follow the main road to Stegna, don't listen navigation and continue along the beach until a big parking lot with ramp belonging to a hotel, pass it from right side and there you will find sign navigating you directly to the property.
