You know what struck me first about Olive Tree Villas Afandou? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street – P. Rammou – that most tourists never stumble across, which honestly works in your favor. I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the distant hum from the main Afantou road, but it’s more like white noise than actual traffic chaos. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s family compound than some sterile hotel complex.

The villas themselves have this lived-in Mediterranean charm that you can’t fake – terracotta roof tiles that have clearly weathered a few decades of Greek summers, olive trees (obviously) dotting the grounds that actually produce fruit, and these little stone pathways that connect everything. The staff genuinely seems to know the area inside and out, which is refreshing after dealing with those big resort chains where nobody’s actually from Rhodes. They’ll tell you which tavernas in Afantou village serve the best souvlaki (it’s not the obvious touristy one with English menus, by the way) and when to hit Afantou Beach to avoid the worst crowds – usually early morning or after 4 PM when the organized tour groups start packing up.

What I really appreciated was the practical stuff that travel sites never mention. Parking is actually plentiful here, which if you’ve ever tried to find a spot near Rhodes Old Town in summer, you’ll understand why that matters. The kitchenettes in the villas are properly equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and hope for the best, but actual cooking facilities if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the Saturday market in Afantou. The Wi-Fi works reliably (tested it during several video calls), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing on your roof. Honestly, for a 4-star place with a 7.8 rating, my expectations were moderate, but the attention to these everyday details really won me over. The pool area gets lovely afternoon light, and there’s usually a gentle breeze coming up from the coast that makes even the hottest July days bearable. Sure, it’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, and if you’re looking for a bustling resort scene with organized activities, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuine taste of Rhodes away from the cruise ship crowds, with easy access to both beaches and mountain villages, Olive Tree Villas hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  What could be improved: ce n’est pas une villa c’est un bas de villa avec un appartement au dessus non précise sur l’annonce pas wifi juste une clé 4 g qui fonctionne 2 jours pour travailler c’est compliqué je trouve que l’annonce est fausse villa 160 m2 avec wifi non !
