So I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Olive Garden Hotel,” I was expecting some sort of chain restaurant mishap, but this place in Lardos is actually a really solid choice that surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked into this quieter part of Rhodes that most tourists sort of bypass on their way to the main attractions, which honestly works in your favor because you get that authentic Greek village feel without the crowds pushing past you every five minutes.

The hotel itself has that clean, modern Mediterranean vibe going on – you know, white walls with pops of blue and green that don’t feel too theme-park-ish. What I really appreciated was how the staff actually seemed to care about the place, not just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth (they’ve got decent English, which helps), and they gave me genuinely useful tips about the area rather than just handing over a generic tourist map. The rooms are comfortable enough – nothing fancy, but the AC works well, which is crucial during those sweltering July afternoons, and the beds are actually decent quality. I mean, you’re not getting luxury resort amenities here, but for a four-star place, everything feels well-maintained and thoughtfully put together.

What really makes this spot work is the location in Lardos itself. You’re about a ten-minute walk to Lardos Beach, which is honestly one of the better stretches of sand on this part of the island – less crowded than Lindos but still with that crystal-clear water everyone comes to Greece for. The village has a few genuine tavernas where locals actually eat (try the one near the little church – can’t remember the name, but it’s got blue chairs outside), and there’s a small market for basics without having to drive anywhere. If you’ve got a rental car, parking at the hotel is straightforward, and you’re perfectly positioned for day trips – Lindos is maybe fifteen minutes south, and you can easily explore some of the smaller beaches along the coast that don’t make it into guidebooks. The hotel gets a bit busier in August when the Greek families come for vacation, but even then it’s not overwhelming. Honestly, for the price point and the rating it’s got, this place delivers on what it promises without trying to be something it’s not, which I can appreciate more than hotels that overpromise and underdeliver.

  Clean, recently refurbished rooms. Very friendly staff and always happy to help. Bus stop outside hotel. Lindos is lovely about 30 mins on bus

  The room was lovely and modern we was staying the the Newley built block, couldn’t fault the room at all. The gyros and pizza bar were amazing we filled up on this throughout the day. Bonus the pool isn’t freezing!
  
  What could be improved: The photos are very deceiving this place looks a little scruffy compared to the photos. The buffet is awful again we filled up on pizza and gyros ( delish ) and had to eat out a few times the food was not nice everything was cheaply made although it changed every day it all tasted the same wasn’t what we was expecting baring in mind we’ve been all inclusive to three different resorts in Greece. A lot of other people thought the same as us.
  I feel like we over paid at £800 I would rate this more of a 3* hotel and would of expected to pay £500

  The cleanliness of the facility was excellent, particularly due to the diligent efforts of the staff. The rooms and common areas were regularly maintained, making our stay comfortable and pleasant. Additionally, the staff was very friendly and helpful, promptly addressing all our needs.
  
  What could be improved: However, the quality of the food and beverages was far below our expectations. We tried it once and then decided to have all our meals at nearby restaurants outside the facility. Moreover, the location of the facility was quite remote, making it difficult to access and limiting our ability to reach other amenities in the area.

  Interesting resort, a very big free parking inside (curiously not indicated in the description), good position to visit all the Rodi Island. Very nice free water park (although the nicest games are only for child tall at least 1.2m).
  Some little bad detail (important if you are looking a luxury hotel, less if you are looking a comfortable and practical solution), but a good location for the price.
  Some rooms have very nice see, but not all, depends from the block and the floor.
  Good breakfast.

  What could be improved: the lack of a lift; for the first floor room with a heavy baggage is a problem

  Lovely hotel, many pool, splash pool for smaller kids and the watermark. Food was good and pizza snack bar was great, managers always present and were really approachable. Drink selection wasn't massive but more than adequate and bar staff were great. Location is a bit out but the bus system is great, reception staff were really helpful in helping with this
  
  What could be improved: The local beach wasn't great, all pebbles even when. You got in the sea- not really recommended
  There was complaints about entertainment- it was fine for us but they didn't have much in an evening (mini disco 8-9 then maybe bingo and karaoke). There was always music in the bar though and we were happy with this
  As a smoker a bit of a pain having to go to the designer area, although it was just next to the pool/ bar so not a massive issue and I'm sure the non smokers appreciated it
