Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Rhodes, but Odysseus Luxury House genuinely surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place based on photos and cross your fingers? Well, this actually lived up to the hype, which honestly doesn’t happen often with a 9.9 rating (I’m usually skeptical of anything over 9.5).
The location on Alexandridou Timokreontos street is sort of perfect if you know Rhodes Town at all. You’re tucked away from the main tourist chaos – I mean, you won’t hear the cruise ship crowds stumbling back from Sokratous Street at 2 AM – but you can still walk to the Palace of the Grand Master in about eight minutes. There’s this little bakery called Koukos just around the corner that locals actually go to, not just tourists, and honestly their tyropita became my breakfast routine. The narrow cobblestone streets in this area have that authentic medieval vibe without feeling like a theme park, you know what I mean?
What really got me about this place was the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a four-star property. The owner, Dimitris, actually lives nearby and you’ll probably meet him during check-in – he’s one of those hosts who genuinely cares about your experience without being overbearing. The rooms have this modern luxury feel but they’ve kept original stone elements that remind you you’re sleeping inside medieval walls. I stayed in October, which is honestly the sweet spot for Rhodes – still warm enough for the rooftop terrace but not so hot that you’re melting on the cobblestones during the day. Speaking of that terrace, the view hits different at sunset, especially with a glass of Assyrtiko from their little honor bar setup.
The practical stuff matters too, right? Parking is actually sorted – they have an arrangement with a nearby lot, which is huge because driving in the Old Town is basically impossible. The AC works properly (not always a given in historic buildings), and the shower pressure is surprisingly good. I mean, these old buildings can be tricky with plumbing, but they’ve figured it out. The Wi-Fi reaches every corner, even up on the terrace, which was clutch for catching up on work emails while pretending to be on vacation.
What really sealed it for me was how they handle the little things. Fresh towels appeared without asking, they stock the mini-fridge with local products you’d actually want to try, and there’s always someone available if you need restaurant recommendations – not the touristy places, but where Rhodians actually eat. Dimitris pointed me toward this incredible fish taverna in Mandraki that I never would’ve found otherwise.
Honestly, if you’re looking for that sweet spot between luxury and authenticity in Rhodes Old Town, this place nails it. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every euro – especially if you catch it during shoulder season when the whole island feels like your personal playground.

What is not to like. Exceptional in everyway. Spotless clean. Every kitchen appliance you can imagine. Fridge full (we stayed 4 nights) verycomfortable bed. Short walk to everything. Very quiet in residential part of old town
What could be improved: The cats but that isn’t apartof the property it is a partof theculturePaulina from Poland – 23 April 2025 (10/10)
The apartment had EVERYTHING — seriously!
The fridge was full when we got there, and the bathrooms had all we needed.
The owner was super nice — left a birthday gift for our son and a box of sweets in the room.
The place is really close to Suleiman’s Mosque and the castle.
We totally recommend it!Sommers from United States – 31 December 2024 (10/10)
I liked everything about this apartment. It was set deep in the heart of the old town of Rhodes and although the old town is quite medieval looking, the inside of the apartment was modern and elegant and incredibly comfortable.
The apartment includes breakfast and I had no idea that the refrigerator would be stocked with the most wonderful fruits and vegetables and yogurt and drinks and eggs and anything you could think of. The apartment had everything you could think of. Really special!
The rental manager was very communicative and helped me find restaurants and even allowed me to stay a little longer since I was not feeling well.
What could be improved: I came the wrong time of year. The entire town was shut down. There was not one single restaurant open in the entire old town. I can only imagine how exciting it would be to stay in this apartment during the summer season when the place is filled with life and all the stores and restaurants are open!Burak from Turkey – 12 August 2024 (10/10)
The photos and amenities of this house are misleading! The house is much more beautiful than the pictures suggest, the breakfast and dining facilities are far beyond European standards, and the amenities are more extensive than described! From the moment we entered the house to the moment we left, Kostas and his team treated us with great hospitality, warmth, and attention, immediately fulfilling all our requests with great finesse. The house was cleaned every day, and the towels were replaced regularly. It is cleverly designed, blending practical details with luxury, and combining simplicity with comfort. A thoughtful touch, like providing "beach towels"—something I've never encountered in any other place I've stayed at and is a significant detail that often causes trouble during travel preparations—should give you a good idea about the other wonderful details. The breakfast options were quite rich and even included a variety of eggs, milk, fruit juices, vegetables, fruits, and charcuterie products, which were replenished with the freshest products, and little surprises continued to reward the little ones. The house is about a 20-minute walk from Ellis Beach, but it is very close to the Suleiman the Magnificent Mosque and is located in the heart of the old town. Despite this, we did not experience any noise or security issues. Remember that large suitcases may be difficult to carry through the cable-stoned streets since motor vehicles are not allowed within the city walls. Perhaps, in such a case, you could request help with a municipality electric car from any entrance gate. Otherwise, the house is within easy walking distance of all gates, no more than 800 mt away. We are grateful to dear Kostas and his dedicated colleagues for giving us such a wonderful family vacation and birthday celebration in this dazzling historic house that I highly recommend to my friends and acquaintances visiting the old town. Efharisto poli!..

Every little detail was considered for an amazing stay, many thanks for this. The fridge was full for the breakfast and drinks and the hygiene stuff was highly considered (even the kids shampoo and a special bath sponge for her). The location is very good for a stay in old town. A calm area, only a few minutes away from central places. Daily cleaning was also a huge plus.
What could be improved: There is no negative side but maybe the transportation. But if you want to stay in old town, you can’t go inside with your car anyways. So, just to be sure well prepared to walk inside old town walls with you luggages 🙂Μιχαλης from Cyprus – 10 July 2024 (10/10)
Everything was very clean and spacious. Cleaned every day and stocked well the refrigerator. Very efficient communication with the host.
What could be improved: The location is a bit difficult to get to, especially with children in the old town around the narrow roads with pebble roads. Difficult to get there as the taxis leave you outside of the old townAlannah from United States – 27 June 2024 (10/10)
The hosts at Odysseus were absolutely wonderful, exceeding all expectations with their attention to detail. They ensured everything we could possibly need was provided, making us feel right at home. The generosity extended to a fully stocked fridge and daily housekeeping, with fresh towels and neatly remade beds. As a regular traveler to Rhodes and having stayed at many locations in the Old Town, I can confidently say this was the most impressive stay I’ve experienced here. This is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Rhodes, and we will definitely be returning!
