You know what struck me first about Nila’s Villa? It’s tucked away on this quiet stretch of Eparchiaki Odos Koskinou where you can actually hear the cicadas in the evening – which honestly surprised me, considering how close you are to Rhodes’ main action. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute drive from the medieval town, but it feels like you’ve found this little pocket of authentic Greek life that most tourists miss completely.

The villa itself has that lived-in charm that you don’t get with the big resort chains. Sure, it’s a solid 4-star place, but what I loved was how the owners – and I’m pretty sure Nila herself was around during my stay – actually seem to care about the details that matter. The rooms aren’t Instagram-perfect, but they’re genuinely comfortable with these thick stone walls that keep things cool even during those brutal July afternoons. And the terrace views… well, you get glimpses of the Aegean between the olive trees, which beats staring at another hotel building any day. The WiFi was decent enough for work calls (always a concern when you’re trying to extend a trip), and parking was never an issue – something you’ll appreciate if you’ve ever tried finding a spot in Rhodes Old Town during peak season.

What really sets this place apart though is the location in Koskinou itself. Most people just drive through on their way to the beaches, but if you walk around the village – especially early morning when the old guys are having their coffee in the plateia – you get this glimpse of how locals actually live. There’s this fantastic bakery about a five-minute walk down the main road where you can grab proper tiropita for breakfast, and honestly, it’s better than whatever continental spread most hotels put out. The beaches at Koskinou Bay are just down the hill, and while they’re not the most spectacular on the island, they’re rarely crowded and the water’s perfect for a quick swim without the tourist circus. I’ll be honest – the 7 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere with personality rather than just another anonymous hotel room, and you don’t mind being a short drive from the main attractions rather than right in the thick of things, Nila’s Villa hits that sweet spot perfectly.
