Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Nikos Takis? It’s actually tucked away on this narrow street called Panatitou, which honestly most tourists probably walk right past without noticing. I mean, Rhodes Old Town has so many winding alleys that you could spend days just getting lost in them, but this particular spot is sort of perfect – close enough to all the action but far enough that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at all hours.

The whole “boutique fashion hotel” thing isn’t just marketing speak here, which surprised me. They’ve actually got this curated feel throughout the place, like someone with a really good eye put thought into every corner. The rooms have this modern Greek aesthetic going on – you know, clean lines but with these gorgeous local touches that feel authentic rather than touristy. What I really appreciated was the attention to detail in the textiles and lighting. There’s this warm, almost golden glow in the evenings that makes everything look like it belongs in a design magazine, but in a lived-in way, not sterile. And honestly, after spending days walking on those ancient cobblestones (which are beautiful but absolutely murder on your feet), the beds here are like sinking into a cloud.

The location is actually genius once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re basically a five-minute walk from the Palace of the Grand Master, but you can also slip down to Mandraki Harbor pretty easily when you want to see the boats or grab dinner by the water. The staff seems to really know their stuff about the island too – not just the obvious tourist spots but places where locals actually go. I had this conversation with someone at the front desk about the best time to visit Lindos (apparently early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat and crowds), and they were spot-on. The whole vibe feels more like staying with knowledgeable friends than at a typical hotel.

What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night. Rhodes Town can be pretty lively, especially near the main tourist strips, but this little pocket stays peaceful. You’ll hear the occasional motorbike – it’s Greece, after all – but nothing that’ll keep you up. And the morning light coming through those traditional shutters? Absolutely gorgeous. I can see why this place has such a high rating – it’s got that rare combination of being professionally run but still feeling personal and connected to the place it’s in.

This hotel is like a beautiful calm oasis in the heart of the old town. Perfectly located near to everything but also very peaceful. We loved the old worldly glamour and quirkiness, we had a great room with a terrace overlooking the garden. The host Konstantinos was very helpful and all the staff are so friendly. Breakfast was delicious and lovely to have on the pretty terrace every day.

What could be improved: Nothing. It was all perfect.

Our host was exceptional, offering a great overview of the area along with fascinating insights into its highlights.

I must also highlight the breakfast—it was absolutely superb, featuring top-quality local produce expertly prepared to the highest standard.

  • Stutsman from United States – 8 May 2025 (10/10)

The hotel manager, Constantine, was the most hospitable manager we have encountered and this year alone we have been in hotels in Singapore and Paris. The breakfasts were home-made and delicious. The location was excellent across from the castle in the Old Town. It is a stay to be remembered

What could be improved: Screens on the windows are the only thing that would have made it better.

  • Ποιμενίδου from Greece – 3 April 2025 (10/10)

Its a grogeous property with history next to one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. The host Konstantinos made my stay even more enjoyable with an amazing breakfast.
