You know what caught me off guard about staying in Massari? How quiet it actually gets at night, despite being right next to Haraki beach where you’d expect constant activity. I mean, during the day there’s this lovely buzz from the tavernas and beach bars just steps away, but come evening it settles into this perfect Mediterranean calm that honestly made me sleep better than I had in months.

The location is pretty much ideal if you’re the type who wants to experience authentic Rhodes without staying in the touristy chaos of Rhodes Town – though you’re still only about ten minutes from Lindos when you want that iconic acropolis experience. What I loved is how the local tavernas around Haraki aren’t trying to be fancy; they’re just serving really good fish that was probably swimming that morning, and the owners actually remember your name after the second visit. There’s this one place where the grandmother still makes the bread daily, and you can smell it wafting over in the mornings. The beach itself is this lovely stretch of pebbles and sand that never feels overcrowded, even in peak season – probably because it’s just far enough off the main tourist trail that you get more locals and people who actually did their research.

I’ll be honest, the accommodation itself exceeded what I expected from the photos. Everything’s well-maintained (which isn’t always a given in Greece, let’s be real), and whoever manages this place clearly understands what travelers actually need – like proper water pressure in the shower and reliable WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes. The 9.6 rating makes complete sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it nails all the fundamentals while giving you genuine access to local life. Parking was never an issue, which is huge if you’re planning to explore the island properly. Actually, I’d recommend getting a car because while Haraki itself is walkable and charming, having the freedom to discover those hidden coves along the coast – some only accessible by car – really makes the trip. The whole area feels like what people imagine when they dream about Greek island life, but without the Instagram crowds pushing you out of your own vacation photos.

  We had a fantastic stay in the Ossiano Pool Villas. The house is very beautiful, large and equipped with everything you need. The outdoor areas, including the pool and sun loungers, are also very well maintained and perfect for sunbathing. The hospitality of the owners deserves special mention. They were always available to give recommendations and help. They were really great people who made the stay special. Thank you again for that and we would love to come back.

  The property was ideally situated just near a small town Masari and close to a beach also. In a peaceful rural location. The villas are very well maintained and the pool is a plus. Everything was very comfortable and we were made most welcome.

  If there would be a 12 Star option that would have definitely been the pick for me. The hosts Kosta and Diana are the most wonderful and hospitable people you will find. They will always try to accommodate your inquiries and give you tips on where to go throughout your trip. The villa is clean, in very good condition and beautifully located, close to sleepy charaki beach and only 15 minutes to Lindos.

  One of the best accommodations ever, Kostas and his family are such lovely human beings, always available for interesting tips on beaches, restaurants and experiences. The villa is huge, super clean and comfy and the swimming pool is spot on! Will definitely come back, 100% recommended.

  Ossiano Pool Villas are a set of three beautiful villas on the outskirts of Haraki. We stayed in the left hand villa, which had a lovely garden, pool and view. The villa was well equipped with two double en-suite rooms (one upstairs, one downstairs) and a large comfortable kitchen, dining and living room area. The kitchen has dishwasher and washing machine.
  The villa backs on to an olive plantation and views of the mountains and the scenery is stunning. Its a peaceful location, Haraki beach and tavernas about a 20 minute walk on a well lit main road, 3 minute drive. Massari is about a 5 – 10 minute walk for the local bakery, mini market and a good Cantina for lunch, ice-creams and cold drinks is about 3 minutes away on the roundabout. There are two lovely, quiet pebble beaches in walking distance near O Manolios Taverna and Haraki Bay. Over the other side of the castle is a large sandy beach at Agathi, which is more of a drive away. This is visible from the top of Pheraklos Castle, which is well worth the walk up – about 15 – 20 minutes, just follow the path from the parking area by the road.
  The owners, Kostas and Diana are kind and generous hosts and live close by, always available via What's App. Kostas was full of local tips for eating and visits and couldn't have been more helpful. We went along to the village Saint Festival, thanksgiving post COVID on Tuesday 28th June. This was a lovely evening with marching band and icon parade. Followed by Greek musicians and dancing at O Manolios at the nearby beach.
  
  What could be improved: There was some construction noise from the new properties that Kostas and Diana are building across the road, but this was acknowledged and not too problematic.
  Given the layout of the seating areas at the back of the properties, more noise came from the visitors staying next door, sadly a group of 5 young women who may have been more at home in Faliraki rather than Haraki. Kostas and Diana spoke to them after a few nights of music until 1.30am. We would check who was staying next door when booking again.

  The hosts were lovely and the villa was modern and well equipped. The hosts kindly left us some supplies on arrival such as cold drinks and some fruit. They were very understanding when I forgot that they needed a cash deposit at the start of our stay (twice!). The pool area was spotless and cleaned daily. The views at the back of the villa were beautiful.
  
  What could be improved: The property is about a 20 minute walk to Haraki Beach which is quite a long way in the heat of the day or if you don't feel like walking to come home after a night out. Property WIFI was slow. We were asked not to use the umbrellas in the pool area if it was windy as they might break. It was windy most days and so probably be better for the property to get more robust shade options. Certain areas inside the Villa were a little shabby (eg grout and sealant in showers).
