I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Nereides Apartments on that narrow street in Kremasti. You know how it is with apartment-style places, they can be hit or miss. But walking into this spot, you immediately get that feeling when a place just gets it right. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need, not just what looks good in photos.

What struck me first was how quiet it is, even though you’re literally 10 minutes from Rhodes airport (which, trust me, is a blessing when you’re dragging luggage in July heat). Kremasti itself is one of those Greek towns that hasn’t been completely overrun by tourism yet – there’s a proper local feel to it. You’ve got authentic tavernas down the street where Greeks actually eat, not just the tourist spots. The beach is a short walk away, and it’s the kind where you’ll see more locals than selfie sticks, which honestly makes all the difference.

The apartments themselves are what sold me though. They’re not trying to be fancy hotels – they’re better than that. Proper kitchens with everything you’d need, not those joke kitchenettes with a mini-fridge and hope. The air conditioning actually works (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in Greece), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes. I mean, the little touches matter – decent shower pressure, enough electrical outlets, balconies that aren’t just decorative afterthoughts. You can tell someone who actually travels stayed here and made notes about what was annoying elsewhere.

The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in a hotel, which is exactly what you want when you’re in Greece for more than just a quick weekend. You can grab fresh bread from the bakery around the corner in the morning, pick up some of that incredible Greek yogurt, maybe some tomatoes that actually taste like tomatoes – and have a proper breakfast on your balcony without paying hotel restaurant prices. There’s parking too, which anyone who’s driven around Greek islands will appreciate.

What really clinched it for me was the location itself. Kremasti is close enough to Rhodes town that you can easily explore the medieval city and all that history, but you’re also perfectly positioned for day trips around the island. The bus connections are decent, or you can rent a car and be at Lindos in 45 minutes. But honestly? Some of my best memories were just wandering around Kremasti in the evenings, stopping at the local kafeneio, watching the old Greek men play backgammon and argue about politics.

The 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there. It’s not perfect – the street can get a bit busy during the day, and don’t expect five-star hotel service – but that’s not what this place is about. It’s about having a genuine Greek experience without the tourist markup, staying somewhere that feels real. If you want to experience Rhodes like you live there, rather than just passing through, this is your spot.

  Great hosts, kind, they even heard of a bus predicament and came to get me, left food for the beginning too, and made homemade pastries for us when we came 🙂
  The beds are very comfortable, (because it is new, I think they just need to put a velcro to attach the top matress which is super comfy! Just so they won't move over a few nights, while lying it doesn't move) There are extra sheets and towels, and you can ask for blankets in the summer too
  The place is very well thought out, spacious and looks better than the pictures 🙂
  It is comfortable, the a/c goes between 24 and 27° at first that stressed me out, but it was enough, even in the heat 👌. Also, the ac turns off if you open a window or door, but you can leave one in the other room if you need air, or open the bedroom one for air, a tiny bit with ac which was enough.
  It is approx 9 minutes from a great beach, and if you turn there right and walk a bit, you get to a better beach with swings etc 🙂 and a kite riders place

  Also only about 3 minutes from the supermarket, and right outside are various restaurants and coffee/bar places, plus the main bus lines to Rhodes city, Iyalissos and the airport (only €1.8 each way if you purchase tickets at a kiosk, €3 on the bus)
  You clean during your stay, when you arrive and leave there are cleaning services
  Basically, great location, comfort and hosting.

  Wonderfully kind owners! She made delicious biscuits to eat with your tea or coffee. The accommodation was super comfortable with additional amenities. Close to good food places, stores and most importantly the beach! Everything was better than I could ever imagine. Definitely would stay there again and again!

  Siisti huoneisto ja kaikki tarvittava löytyi. Ihana isäntäväki oli myös toimittanut aamupala start-paketin jolla sai hyvin päivän aloitettua ja sitten tehtyä itse ostokset myöhemmin. Lähistöllä 100 m päässä oli 3 ravintolaa missä oli maittavat ruuat. Iso hyvin varusteltu kauppa oli 250 m päässä. Samoin bussipysäkki josta pääsi lentokentälle oli 200m päässä. Huoneistossa oli pesukone ja kuivausrumpu millä saatiin likaiset vaatteen taas käyttökuntoon päivän aikana.
