Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about the Mitsis Petit Palais? The name actually makes sense once you see it – there’s something genuinely elegant about this place that feels more boutique than your typical four-star hotel. It’s tucked right on Griva Street, which honestly is one of those perfectly positioned spots where you’re close enough to everything but not dealing with the tourist chaos that hits the main drag.
The location is pretty brilliant, actually. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the medieval Old Town – and I’m talking about the real entrance that locals use, not the crowded main gates where all the cruise ship crowds pile in. There’s this little coffee shop just around the corner that serves proper Greek coffee (the kind that’ll wake you up for real), and the whole area has this lived-in feel that’s way better than staying in some resort bubble. The hotel itself has this boutique vibe going on – you can tell someone actually thought about the design instead of just throwing together generic hotel furniture. The rooms are well, they’re thoughtfully done. Not huge, but honestly, who spends time in their room in Rhodes anyway?
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. Like, when I asked about getting to Lindos without joining a tour group, the front desk guy gave me the real scoop on the local bus schedule and which beach to hit on the way back. That kind of local knowledge is gold when you’re trying to avoid the tourist traps. The breakfast setup is solid too – nothing fancy, but they do this thing with local honey and yogurt that’s honestly better than most of the expensive hotel spreads I’ve had. And here’s a practical thing that matters: the WiFi actually works throughout the building, which you’d be surprised how many places still mess up.
The area gets a bit lively in the evenings – there are some bars and restaurants within walking distance – but it’s not the kind of noise that keeps you up all night. Rhodes Town has this rhythm where things wind down at a reasonable hour, unlike some of the more party-focused Greek islands. One small thing that caught my attention was how easy it was to get a taxi from here, which becomes important when you want to explore the island beyond just the town center. The drivers all seem to know exactly where Griva Street is, which saves you that awkward conversation trying to explain your location.
Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or anything like that, but the Mitsis Petit Palais does something more valuable – it gives you a genuine base to actually experience Rhodes instead of just visiting it. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you stay there; it’s the kind of place where all the small details add up to something that just works really well.

What could be improved: All was goodCelia from United Kingdom – 7 June 2025 (9/10)
Clean comfortable friendly and well run. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming, reception, cleaners, pool staff, bars, dining room (super-organised by the lovely Zara).
What could be improved: 1. The view of the massive building site opposite (although it was quite interesting watching the work).
2. No same-level toilets in the reception area.
3. The earthquake!Doug from United Kingdom – 5 June 2025 (9/10)
Good location, pool and private beach. Comfortable rooms. Good buffet breakfast
What could be improved: Pool was a little small.John from United States – 27 May 2025 (9/10)
Exceeded all expectations.

Everything was perfect — the staff, the location, and the room.
The food was excellent, especially the amazing pizza and the wonderful staff member who prepared it. Absolutely delicious!Veronika from Czech Republic – 7 May 2025 (8/10)
Great location of the hotel, a short walk to the centre and the beach. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent and varied food, cleanliness.
What could be improved: A new hotel is being built across the street and the construction is very busy all day long, from early morning until sunset. When the construction stops, you can hear a lot of noise from the street all night long.Lizi from United Kingdom – 6 May 2025 (8/10)
Great location, very friendly staff (particularly the reception and housekeeping teams), comfortable and clean rooms with all the facilities you might need and good breakfast.
Lovely touch to have the complementary wine and preserves in the room and we were welcomed with homemade lemonade on arrival.
We really enjoyed our stay which was on a B&B basis.
What could be improved: The bar area was quite loud in the evenings due to performances and the acoustics of the building meant quite a lot of noise from neighbouring rooms and corridor early in the morning so not ideal for people who want an early night or like to sleep in.Pauline from United Kingdom – 29 April 2025 (9/10)
location, room and meals all were more than perfect

Location of Mitsis Petite Palace is excellent, in the quiet area of the downtown, close to the beach, shopping area and old town. There is a large scale reconstruction of the Mitsis Grand Hotel nearby, but during our stay there were no noisy construction works, so it didn't disturb us. We took two rooms – family suite and single room, both were very spacious and convenient with plenty of utensils, coffee machine, kettle, fridge with soft drinks. The staff is very nice especially in the dining room (thank you Zara, Maria and all the folks). Food was very good and various, no crowds and lines in the dining hall. Manager Margarita was very attentive to our requests. Kids enjoyed swimming pool very much (for us it was too cold even in jacuzzi), thanks to Michael (the lifeguard) the time near the pool was very nice. Bars were good, drinks were tasty. Even the cultural program in the evenings was very decent, especially the Greek evening. We highly recommend this hotel.
What could be improved: We stayed at the lower floor, from the one hand it was very convenient since we didn't use elevator, from the other hand sometimes we could hear the noise from the bar on the ground floor till late. Earplugs solved the problem.Mehmet from Turkey – 24 April 2025 (9/10)
Friendly staff. Close to city center and seaside. Breakfast and dinner buffet is good.
