Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Mirodaty’s House on Epimarchou street – the name doesn’t exactly scream luxury, you know? But this little four-star gem completely caught me off guard. It’s tucked into one of those quieter cobblestone streets in Rhodes Town, maybe a three-minute walk from the main tourist drag, which means you get all the medieval charm without the constant hum of tour groups right outside your window.

What really got me was how the owner (I’m assuming that’s Mirodaty) has managed to blend the old Rhodes character with actually functional modern touches. The building itself feels authentically Greek – thick stone walls that keep things surprisingly cool even in July, wooden shutters that you’ll actually want to use, and these gorgeous tile floors that have clearly been there for decades. But then you’ve got proper air conditioning that works, WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and a shower with actual water pressure. Small victories, but they matter when you’re dealing with summer heat and sandy feet after a day exploring the Palace of the Grand Master.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble. There’s this little bakery around the corner – I never caught the name, but it’s the one with the blue shutters – where locals actually go for their morning coffee and those flaky cheese pastries. You’ll hear the church bells from Agios Spyridon in the morning, which sounds romantic until you realize they start pretty early, but honestly it becomes part of the charm. Parking can be a bit tricky since most of the old town streets aren’t really built for cars, but there’s a small lot about two blocks away that most people don’t know about. The walk back with luggage isn’t terrible, and the evening stroll through those narrow streets after dinner becomes something you’ll actually look forward to. I mean, you’re literally walking the same paths that knights used centuries ago – it never gets old. The staff seems to genuinely care about making sure you understand how to navigate the old town like someone who actually lives there, not just hitting the obvious tourist spots.

  The finish to the property was 5* and the location was exceptional, perfect holiday.
  
  What could be improved: The frosted glass to the bedroom meant there was never complete darkness for sleeping. Seems a bit trivial but it's just what we're used to.
