Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Midgard Suites? The name sounds like some cheesy Viking-themed chain hotel, but honestly, it’s one of those places that just gets Rhodes Old Town right. I mean, you’re literally on Timokratos Street – which, okay, sounds intimidating but it’s actually this quiet cobblestone lane that somehow manages to feel tucked away even though you’re a two-minute walk from all the main medieval action. The building itself has this weathered stone facade that blends seamlessly with everything else from the 14th century around it, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of… I don’t know, like someone actually thought about what it means to stay in a place with this much history instead of just slapping modern furniture against old walls and calling it boutique.
The suites themselves are surprisingly spacious – and I say surprising because most places in the Old Town are basically glorified closets with a view. Here, you’ve got room to actually unpack and spread out, which matters when you’re dealing with those thick medieval walls that keep everything blissfully cool even when it’s blazing outside. The design walks this fine line between respecting the original architecture and giving you all the stuff you actually need, like proper lighting for reading and outlets where you’d expect them to be. What really sold me though was stepping out onto the little balcony in the evening – you can hear the distant hum from Sokratous Street where all the tourists are buying their souvenir magnets, but it’s muffled enough that it becomes this pleasant background soundtrack rather than chaos. And honestly, the fact that they managed a 9.7 rating tells you something, because Rhodes visitors can be pretty particular about their accommodations.
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of town – you’re close enough to duck into Plateia Arionos for morning coffee (there’s this little place that opens early and actually knows how to make a proper Greek coffee), but far enough from the cruise ship crowds that you can pretend you’re the only person who discovered this medieval maze. The staff seems to get that balance too; they’re not hovering or trying to upsell you on tours every five minutes, but they know which tavernas stay open late and which streets to avoid when the tour groups descend after lunch. Parking is… well, it’s what you’d expect in a medieval town, meaning you’ll probably end up at the Mandraki lot and walking, but that’s half the charm anyway. I keep coming back to how quiet it gets at night – you’ll hear the occasional motorbike echoing off the stone walls, maybe some laughter drifting from a rooftop bar, but mostly it’s just you and centuries of history. For a four-star place, it punches way above its weight in terms of actually understanding what people want when they choose to stay inside the walls rather than at some beach resort.

The facilities are good, and the location and surroundings are pleasantly quiet. The accommodation is beautifully tucked away in the old town, yet centrally located.
What could be improved: Everything was perfect and as described. The positive reviews are therefore all true.Cheryl from United Kingdom – 26 May 2025 (10/10)
Perfect location and Jurgen our host was amazing so helpful and friendly. He gave us lots advice about Rhodes old town. we advise you use his airport transfer not a taxi.

Loved the hot tub, outside space and lovely breakfasts on the roof terrace. Very clean, bed made every day and fresh towels. Jurgen was very helpful collecting us from the airport and dropping us off for our ferry. He also went out of his way to arrange an emergency dentist for us and drove us there. Very close to everything but also peaceful.

Easy walking to anywhere in the old town. Room was clean and comfortable. It was great to have a little sitting area and coffee corner. Watch out for the wood beams upstairs if you're tall, but it was no problem.
What could be improved: Everything was great. There was a little green light in the room that was on all night, but I put a towel over it and everything was fine.Monika from Poland – 16 May 2025 (10/10)
We loved everything about our stay! The location is perfect, right in the heart of the old town, in a beautiful historic building with a unique atmosphere. The place feels intimate yet offers all the comforts: daily cleaning (which we didn’t even expect), spotless rooms, a wonderful rooftop terrace, delicious breakfasts outdoors, toiletries in the bathroom, fresh towels every day, a hairdryer. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful. He gave us amazing food recommendations (which we strongly suggest you try!) and great tips for sightseeing, car rental, as well as arranging our airport transfer. Thank you, Jurgen and your family! You made this trip truly special for us.

Jürgen was exceptional in communication from the time I made the reservation up until the time he dropped us off at the airport. We arranged a meet-and-greet at the airport, and he helped make my itinerary come alive. He drove my family to a place of interest and then arranged for travel back to the hotel where we checked in. Breakfast options were superb, made to order (including fresh fruit, bread rolls, pancakes, eggs, toasties, ham). Would highly recommend this stay to anyone wanting to explore the Old and New Town. Thanks for your hospitality. We will see you again next year.

What could be improved: Tiny things that were missed for the room ,but I put that down to it was easter, but they were quickly rectified.Kerry from United States – 20 April 2025 (10/10)
Delightful family run hotel in the old town of Rhodes. They have thought of everything! Great attention to detail is given. Jurgen was especially kind, picking me up so that i wouldn't be stranded in the rain at the ferry terminal. Highly recommend this charming hotel. It is clean, comfortable and filled with care.

This little gem lies deep inside the old town. Breakfasts on the rooftop terrace were a highlight and the host, Jurgen, was great. It only has a few rooms and feels like a truly authentic stay.
