You know, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I first pulled up to MG Luxury Villa Kalithies – honestly, the name made it sound a bit more formal than it actually is. But here’s the thing about this place: it sits right on Eparchiaki Odos Kalithion in a way that feels removed from the tourist chaos while still being ridiculously accessible to everything you’d want to do on Rhodes. The first thing that struck me was how quiet it gets here, especially in the evenings when you can actually hear the cicadas over the distant hum of traffic heading toward Rhodes Town.

What really sets this villa apart – and I mean this – is how the owners seem to understand that luxury doesn’t have to be stuffy. The rooms have this lived-in elegance, if that makes sense, like staying at a well-traveled friend’s gorgeous home rather than some sterile hotel chain. The 8.6 rating honestly feels about right; it’s not trying to be a flashy five-star resort, but everything works beautifully. I particularly loved the way morning light filters through the windows, and there’s enough space to actually spread out your stuff without playing suitcase Tetris. The air conditioning runs quietly too, which… well, if you’ve stayed in some Greek accommodations during summer, you’ll appreciate that detail.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: Kalithies itself is one of those villages that feels authentically Greek without being precious about it. You’re maybe fifteen minutes from Faliraki if you want the beach club scene, but you can also walk to some genuinely good tavernas where locals actually eat – there’s this one place down the road where the owner’s grandmother still makes the dolmades, and honestly, it ruined me for every other version I’ve tried since. The villa’s location means you get the best of both worlds: easy access to the coastal attractions but also those winding roads that lead up into the hills where you can find centuries-old chapels and olive groves that Instagram hasn’t discovered yet. Parking’s never been an issue, which is more of a blessing than you might realize until you’ve circled Rhodes Old Town for twenty minutes looking for a spot. I’d definitely stay here again, especially during shoulder season when the whole area has this perfect balance of warm days and cool evenings, and you’re not competing with cruise ship crowds for every decent restaurant table.

  Villa tout confort avec piscine. Services et accueil parfait. Proche de la mer (5’ en voiture) et avec la visite des chèvres le matin autour de la maison !

  Ubytování je při silnici, ta je ale relativně klidná, na pláž je to cca 3 minuty autem (nejblíže oblázková pláž Traganou, o kousíček dál oblázková Afandou, cca 10min pak písčitá Tsambika), do městečka nad ubytováním je to tak 2min jízdy autem. Na letiště se dostanete za 25min. Dům má dobrou polohu pro poznávání severu ostrova, na jih je to dál (ale není to nic, co by se nedalo zvládnout), je zde nutné mít auto (ale s tím jsme počítali).
  Ocenili jsme tři samostatné ložnice (v každé klimatizace), velký obývací pokoj s kuchyní. Jedna společná koupelna + jedna z ložnic měla ještě navíc privátní koupelnu. Bazén je absolutně perfektní! Terasa prostorná, dvě různá sezení + 4 lehátka, v obývacím pokoji dva jídelní stoly a dvě sedačky.
  Bazén je od rána na sluníčku, od 15hod pak ve stínu, takže po výletě se zde nechá koupat bez strachu ze spálení se.
  Dvě parkovací místa, pingpongový stůl, houpačka. Dům stojí v hezké zahradě, za domem malý kostelík (z jedné ložnice je na něj výhled).
  V mrazničce byl připravený led, v lednici voda a víno – moc nás potěšilo.
  V ledničce byly letáčky s jídelním lístkem + kontaktem pro rozvoz jídla, využili jsme a bylo to super (dovoz gyrosu / souvlaki byl perfektní), přesto není problém zajet do nedalekého Kalythies, kde najdete několik taveren, absolutně luxusní pekárnu, je tu i lékárna.
  Check-out je do 11hod, ale vzhledem k času odletu jsme prosili o pozdější čas, odjížděli jsme ve 14 hodin (majitel byl na minutu přesný, to moc oceňuji!), hodně nám to pomohlo.
  Pobyt jsme si maximálně užili a pro rodinu s dětmi je to zcela ideální místo pro dovolenou!
  
  What could be improved: Jedna žaluzie byla rozbitá, za to se nám majitelé omlouvali, určitě to přispělo k našemu nepohodlí, ale chápu, že oprava je náročná a nebylo možné ji provést obratem. Úklid měl trošku rezervy, ale opět chápu, když někdo nechá zapadlou vidličku v sedačce, tak to při běžném úklidu úplně zjistit nelze.
  Bohužel během našeho pobytu přestala fungovat filtrace bazénu, chvilku trvalo, než to majitel vyřešil, ale po opravě byla během několika hodin voda opět krásně čistá.
  V jedné z ložnic je hlučnější klimatizace, ale nechalo se to zvládnout.

  La piscina è molto bella, la posizione è strategica per muoversi nell'isola e gli spazi grandi sia esterni sia interni.
  
  What could be improved: La casa non è molto curata e la pulizia non è il massimo sia internamente sia esternamente.
  Ping-pong rotto. Barbecue non utilizzabile perché marcio. Abbiamo prenotato l'intera villa ma al check-in la porta della terza stanza che includeva anche il secondo bagno era chiusa e non disponibile: solo dopo molti solleciti e lamentele siamo riusciti a far pulire questa parte di casa e rendercela disponibile dopo un giorno e mezzo. La villa ha un ottimo potenziale ma non è sfruttata a dovere soprattutto per la pulizia e la correttezza da parte della proprietà.
