You know what caught me off guard about Mea Terra Villas? The silence. I mean, you’re literally on Lachania Beach – one of Rhodes’ most stunning stretches of coastline – but somehow the villas are tucked away just enough that you wake up to waves, not crowds. Most people rush straight to Lindos or hang around Rhodes Town, but honestly, they’re missing out on this little pocket of perfection down in the southeast corner.

The villas themselves feel like someone’s wealthy Greek uncle designed them – all clean lines and local stone, but with those thoughtful touches that actually matter when you’re living somewhere for a week. The kitchens are properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), and the terraces… well, let’s just say I spent way too many evenings out there with a bottle of Assyrtiko watching the sun disappear into the Med. Each villa has this view that sort of unfolds as you look – first the olive groves, then that incredible sweep of beach, then nothing but blue horizon. The infinity pools don’t hurt either, though I found myself preferring the beach most days since it’s literally a two-minute walk and usually pretty quiet, especially if you head out early.

What really sells this place – aside from that 9.4 rating that actually feels earned – is how it sits in the landscape. Lachania village is this tiny, authentic spot where you can still grab proper Greek coffee and locals actually outnumber tourists, at least outside of August madness. The drive down from Rhodes Town takes about 45 minutes through some gorgeous countryside, and yes, you’ll want a car because public transport down here is basically nonexistent. But that isolation is exactly the point. You’re close enough to explore places like Prasonisi (windsurfer heaven) or the medieval charm of Monolithos, but far enough from the cruise ship chaos to actually relax. The staff clearly knows the area inside and out – they pointed me toward this tiny taverna in Apollona that I never would have found otherwise, and their restaurant recommendations were spot-on every time. It’s the kind of place where you start planning your return visit about halfway through your stay, which probably explains why half the guests seemed to be repeats when I was there in September.

  This places is absolutely amazing. The beach is just few steps from the door, the restaurant is absolutely cool and aesthetic. And you also have a pool for yourself, and its just awesome when at night you look out on the window and see the lights and reflections coming from the pool:) And we read that some people found it noisy because of the restaurant nearby, however we didn't hear any annoying noise/music. Our stay was calm and peaceful:)

  Location is fantastic – very quiet beach in beautiful bay that we had to ourselves morning and evening on 4 days. The apartment is great – plenty of space for a couple, nice facilities, good air conditioning in the living area and bedroom. Nice swimming pool and loungers – completely private. Also comfortable allocated loungers on the beach with umbrella. Comfortable bed, nice additions like fruit basket, bottle of wine and water when we arrived. Also helped to make a restaurant reservation and recommendations so couldn't have been more helpful. WiFi excellent. The beach bar next door is now a villa so no noise from it at all.
  
  What could be improved: Bedroom doesn't have enough storage/cupboard space – could be easily fixed. Shower needs a screen/curtain so water doesn't get on the floor.
