Look, I’ve been to Rhodes more times than I can count, and honestly? Most of the big resorts around Kiotari feel pretty cookie-cutter. But the Mayia Exclusive is different – and not just because it’s adults-only, though that definitely helps when you’re trying to actually relax by the pool without dodging beach balls every five minutes.

First thing you notice pulling up is how they’ve positioned everything. It’s right on that gorgeous stretch of Kiotari beach, but set back just enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main beach road where all the tour buses drop people off. The entrance feels… well, exclusive isn’t just marketing speak here. I mean, you’re literally driving through olive groves to get there, which immediately puts you in a different headspace than those massive complexes closer to Rhodes Town. Check-in was smooth – they actually remembered I’d mentioned it was my anniversary when I booked online, which was a nice touch. The lobby has this beautiful stone work that feels authentically Greek without being cheesy about it, and there’s always this subtle scent of jasmine drifting in from the gardens.

What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve thought about the details. The spa – and I’m usually pretty skeptical about hotel spas – actually uses local ingredients. I had a treatment with honey from the island and sea salt, and you know what? It wasn’t just some overpriced nonsense. The pools are positioned so you get those incredible sunset views over the Aegean, but they’re also designed with different depths and temperatures, so you can find your spot whether you want to swim laps or just float with a book. The restaurants deserve mention too – yes, there’s a main buffet, but honestly the à la carte places are where it’s at. They source a lot locally, and the fish is clearly coming from the boats you can see from your balcony in the morning.

Room-wise, we had one of the sea-view suites and the balcony was genuinely huge – like, you could eat all your meals out there if you wanted. The bed was comfortable (sometimes a gamble in Greece, let’s be honest), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually has decent water pressure. Minor thing, but the soundproofing is excellent. Even though you’re near the beach, it’s incredibly quiet at night.

Here’s the thing about staying in Kiotari versus somewhere like Lindos or Rhodes Town – you’re trading some nightlife and historical sites for genuine tranquility and better beaches. The Mayia works because it gives you that peaceful base but they’ll arrange transfers if you want to explore the medieval city or hit up the bars in Faliraki. Plus, honestly, some of the best tavernas on the island are in the villages just inland from here – places like Asklipio where you’ll be the only tourists and the lamb is incredible. The hotel concierge actually knows these spots and will point you in the right direction, which isn’t always the case at bigger resorts.

  We got a free upgrade and a late check out wasn’t a problem. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left all staff was super friendly. Facilities and food are great. Perfect place to relax. Thank you for the lovely stay.

  The food itself would likely score the hotel 8/10 or so – it wasn't perfect but it definitely contained everything that was needed – several different restaurants, extra large buffet area containing all that one could possibly look for.
  
  The upstairs bar (Del Mar) contained every drink you could ask for. The room was clean, large, and accommodating. The hotel does not spare the few extras that make your stay worthwhile.
  
  With the above said, if there's anything to be said about this hotel, is that the staff is simply phenomenal – they hosted us with great smiles, they were available for us when we needed them, offered help, a kind word, smiles, and basically everything one could ask for.
  
  A special thanks to Costas from the main restaurant, Valerius from the Italian restaurant, Christina from the front desk and most of all to the amazing Vasiliki from the main Del Mar bar. You have all made our stay unforgettable and we appreciate everything you have done for us during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: The bed was too soft for us – it was huge, it was convenient and well organized and maintained, but to our personal preference it was too soft.
  
  Spa treatments (Massage) were a bit pricey (but this was the only thing we paid extra for, during the whole trip)

  The hotel was beautiful and the food was good in comparison to the usual resort food you'd find. The service at the pool was amazing, you always got the drinks you needed.
  
  What could be improved: The booking system for most restaurants weren't great as we didn't get to eat at all the restaurants during our stay there. The service probably could have been better too.

  Exceptional surroundings – spotlessly clean and beautiful views –
  Everyone who works at Mayia treats you like you’re there friends – professional but so friendly and welcoming .
  Food was incredible, the service was impeccable and the Italian and Greek restaurants were outstanding.
  Everyone works so hard to make the experience out of this world .
  So sad to leave – we had 2 junior suites for a family of 4- towels changed twice a day and mini bar restocked daily.
  Beach was clean and water Crystal clear – beach bar and drinks great.
