The location here is genuinely impressive — recent guests have rated it 8.2, and I can see why. You’re positioned perfectly along the coast with easy access to Ialyssos Beach, which tends to be less crowded than some of the more famous Rhodes beaches. What I particularly appreciated was how walkable everything felt; you can stroll to local tavernas without needing to hop in a car or figure out bus schedules. The area has that perfect balance where you’re close enough to amenities but far enough from the chaos to actually relax.

The accommodations at Matoula Beach strike that sweet spot between comfort and simplicity. My room had everything I actually needed without unnecessary frills — clean linens, reliable air conditioning (crucial in Greek summers), and enough space to spread out after a day of exploring. The views vary depending on which room you get, but honestly, you’ll probably spend most of your time outside anyway. What impressed me most was how well-maintained everything felt, despite the property’s relaxed atmosphere.

The breakfast setup here offers both continental and buffet options, which gives you flexibility depending on your mood. I mean, some mornings you want a quick coffee and pastry before hitting the beach, other days you’re ready for a proper spread. The buffet includes local touches — Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, and honey that actually tastes like it came from nearby hives. They’ve got the basics covered well, and the dining area has this pleasant, unhurried feel that sets the right tone for your day.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it delivers on the fundamentals without any pretense. The free private parking is actually a bigger deal than you might think — finding parking in Greek coastal towns can be a nightmare, so having that sorted removes one travel headache completely.   Exceptionally welcoming and pleasant staff and management! Felt very warm and welcome. Went the extra step to make each and every guest welcome despite this being a very busy time with full capacity.
  
  What could be improved: This is just to do with the policy rather than the staff or welcome- the policy is that the guest bring their own tea/coffee/shampoo/conditioner etc. One has to be prepared for this as 4 star hotels all over the world make this provision. There was no slipper/bathrobe as advertised on website.

  The hotel is located within a 5 min drive of the airport and is in a nice secluded area. It is next to the beach and a waterpark is opposite with shopping facilities. The rooms were a great size and were cleaned well.

  What could be improved: Shower rail needed attention. Cooked breakfast items were not kept hot and drinks machines were very poor …both hot drinks and juice.

  Location was great, handy to the airport which is what we needed for an early flight.
  The lady at the desk with the red hair was so welcoming and friendly.
