Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Massari Hills? It’s actually tucked away in this little pocket of Malona Village where you can hear the cicadas more than the traffic – which, honestly, is pretty rare to find these days. The place sits right on Eparchiaki Odos Masaron, but don’t let the main road address fool you; once you wind up their driveway, you’re in this surprisingly serene bubble overlooking the hills.

The whole “luxury living” thing in the name isn’t just marketing speak, I mean, they’ve clearly put thought into making it feel like an upscale residence rather than your typical hotel box. The rooms have this lived-in elegance – think quality linens that actually feel good, not scratchy, and those little touches like proper reading lights by the bed (you’d be amazed how many places mess this up). What really got me was the attention to sound; the walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing your neighbor’s early morning phone calls, which is gold when you’re trying to sleep in. The staff genuinely seems to know the area – they pointed me toward this fantastic little taverna about ten minutes down the road that I never would’ve found otherwise, and they were spot-on about timing the sunset views from their terrace.

Honestly, the 9.7 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s one of those places where small things just work – the WiFi doesn’t cut out when you need it, the shower pressure is actually decent, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward without someone trying to upsell you on seventeen different packages. The location really shines if you want to explore the real Greece without being stuck in a tourist trap; Malona Village has that authentic feel where locals still outnumber visitors, and you’re close enough to hop over to busier spots when you want more action. I’d say the only minor thing is that you’ll definitely want a car – it’s not walking distance to much beyond the village center, but the parking is easy and the roads aren’t too crazy once you get the hang of them. Perfect for couples who want somewhere genuinely relaxing, or honestly, anyone who’s tired of those massive resort complexes where you feel like cattle being herded around.

  Newly built, modern, clean and cosy villa. Nice views, very comfortable beds, excellent host! We really enjoyed the stay. We loved the BBQ and the pool. Location – at least for us was great too! We love to go different beaches and locations during our stay – and Masari is located roughly in the middle from Lindos and Tsampika beach – not too far drive from many nice places, so it was great.

  Nice new villa for a perfect stay. All materials and furnishing are of a good quality. Welcoming and helpful stuff. The pool is shallow, suitable for children. A bit remote location, you will need a car to get there, but easy to find and plenty of parking spots.

  Very nice and quiet location, peaceful between olive trees. Very beautiful terrace and pool. Comfortable spacious rooms and living space. Small details (soap, dishwasher tablets, coffee, etc all available)

  It was self catering. I liked the spacious layout and quality of the fittings, air conditioning and of course the pool.
  
  What could be improved: I couldn't work the induction hob – there were no instructions, so I had to cook everything in the oven which was difficult and inconvenient. The bed in the upper left hand bedroom creaked very badly when one of us moved and we had to change rooms with one of our children. More lightweight bedding would have been much appreciated.

  – Spacious villa
  – Regularly cleaned
  – Modern and nicely styled
  – Private pool also regularly cleaned
  – Fully equipped kitchen with a lot of appliances
  – all rooms have their own bathroom en suite which really comes in handy when travelling with a family
  – Feels as new and hardly used
  
  What could be improved: – On the ground floor we had some ants coming into the property especially at night. Could probably be avoided with proper/better sealing surrounding the doors and windows. Not a major issue though.
  – When looking at certain details, especially the bathrooms it seems these were done in a hurry or were just finished sloppy. Also not a major issue. Would still highly recommend.
