Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes, and Masarou Suites in Afantou honestly surprised me in the best way possible. When you first pull up to Ethnarhou Makariou 122, it doesn’t scream luxury from the street – it’s more like discovering a really well-kept secret. The building has this understated elegance that actually grows on you, and parking was surprisingly easy (which, if you’ve driven around Greek islands in summer, you know is no small thing).

What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about the details that matter. I mean, they remembered I preferred my coffee strong after just one conversation, and when I mentioned I was trying to catch the early bus to Lindos, they actually printed out the current schedule – not just pointed me toward the stop. The suites themselves are spacious in that way that makes you want to actually unpack instead of living out of your suitcase. The kitchen setup is proper too, not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation. I ended up cooking a few meals with stuff from the local market, and honestly? Some of my best vacation memories are from those quiet mornings on the balcony with Greek coffee and fresh bread.

Afantou itself is this perfect middle ground – you’re close enough to Rhodes town (maybe 20 minutes) when you want the nightlife and tourist stuff, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every single day. The beach is literally a five-minute walk, and it’s one of those stretches where locals actually go, not just tourists. You know what I really appreciated? The area gets quiet at night. Not dead quiet, but you can actually sleep with the windows open and hear the sea instead of motorbikes racing around until 3 AM. During the day, there’s this great little taverna – I think it’s called Manolis – just two blocks down where the owner’s mother still makes the dolmades. That’s the kind of neighborhood detail that makes a place memorable. The whole experience felt less like staying in a hotel and more like borrowing a really nice apartment from a friend who happens to have excellent taste. By the time I checked out, I was already thinking about when I could come back – which, for someone who usually tries to see new places every trip, says something.

  What could be improved: Garbage Collection in the Night/ early Morning very close by woke us up. With earplugs no troubles 🙂 Other than that everything was perfect

  Its a beautiful place it was spotless they give us a welcome there were croissants tee cold and hot coffees very helpful the people running it any problem they always answer within minutes , in a very calm an welcoming town lovely people 5 mins from town hall and loads of shops and restaurants, very quite I would recommend to rent a car for the holidays it will make your life easier, thanks so much

  Sehr schöne, frisch renovierte Unterkunft. Schön eingerichtet. Eher kleines Apartment, dennoch 2 AC-Units und 2 große Flatscreens. Das Bett war bequem und groß.
  
  What could be improved: Ausstattung in der Küche war gut, könnte jedoch ein bisschen besser sein – vor allem wenn man gerne kocht. Die Lage war sehr ruhig und entspannt, jedoch braucht man wirklich ein Mietauto, um zum Strand oder zu Sehenswürdigkeiten zu kommen. Der nächste Strand ist sicher nicht der Schönste auf Rhodos. Wir sind meistens zu anderen Stränden in der Nähe gefahren.

  Die Unterkunft war zwar nicht in unserem Stil eingerichtet, aber sie war sehr modern und sehr schön! Es war super sauber und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Es war auch schön, dass wir mir Croissants und Kaffee begrüsst wurden.
