Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Rhodes, and MarySol Luxury Villa honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know Gennadi – it’s that sleepy little village on the southern tip that most tourists completely skip over because they’re too busy fighting crowds in Rhodes Town. Which is actually perfect, because it means this gem sits pretty much undiscovered except by people who really know the island.

The villa itself sits just far enough from the main coastal road that you don’t get the rumble of those tour buses heading to Prasonisi (the windsurfing spot down south), but close enough that you can walk to that gorgeous stretch of beach in maybe three minutes. And I mean gorgeous – we’re talking about one of those pebble-and-sand combos that the Dodecanese does so well, with water that’s actually swimmable instead of the choppy stuff you get up north. The whole setup feels sort of like someone’s wealthy Greek uncle decided to share his private retreat, if that makes sense. There’s this attention to detail everywhere – the way the terraces are positioned to catch both sunrise and sunset views, the fact that they actually provide decent coffee (not that instant stuff), even the shower pressure which, honestly, can be hit or miss in smaller Greek properties.

What really sets this place apart though is how it sits in the landscape. Gennadi’s got these rolling hills behind it dotted with those ancient olive groves, and from certain spots at MarySol you can see clear across to the Turkish coast on a good day. The owners clearly know their stuff too – they’ll point you toward Kiotari Beach if you want something more developed, or send you inland to check out the monastery at Thari if you’re feeling cultural. Parking’s never an issue, which anyone who’s driven around Greek islands will appreciate, and the whole vibe is refreshingly low-key. I mean, this isn’t some resort where you’re fighting for pool chairs at dawn – it’s more like having a really nice base for exploring the southern part of the island that nobody talks about. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here, because it’s one of those places that just gets the basics right without trying too hard to impress you with unnecessary bells and whistles.

  The host ( Mary) is amazing, very friendly & kind & her priority is enduring you have an amazing holiday. An example of this is the fact Mary took us to the local supermarket so we could buy a few essentials before we booked a hire car…..she also provided us with a delicious complimentary bowl of fruit & local eine.
  The villa & facilities are first gcass & there is everything anyone could possibly want in the kitchen/ living space & bedrooms. Outside, there is a spacious garden with lovely plants & and a pool. Thete are also comfortable shaded areas to relax in.
  In summary, an amazing host & villa. We will be back X. ❤️

  The house is very well equiped and placed in a quiet area, near a man road, a bus station ( to Rhodes) and 5 minutes away from the sea, on foot. The beach has tiny pebbles (round little stones a milion amazing colours) but nothing to be disturbing to your feet. On that beach is only a 5 stars hotel, so the sorrounding are quiet, clean and fancy ;).
  Gennadi village is very near and it has very good places to eat: amazing food, very very good prices (15-17 euro a very rich main course). 2 or 3 supermarkets and one fresh fish market from where we bought the best sea bream and shrimp ever.
  The Gennadi beach is minutes away by car and it has astonishing water and everything you may need (tavernas, showers, toilets etc). Very good price for everything.
  Amazing sandy beaches are 15-30 minutes away by car: Tsambika beach and Lindos beach for exemple. Lindos is an archaeological site, a fishing village and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes, with amazing views. The sea here is incredibly beautiful. Good food, good icecream, good beverage, good shopping, good prices.
  A specific entertainment of the island are the inflatable water parks that you cand find almost on every beach. On Tsambika beach for exemple, my son spent half a day in this water park on the sea (15 euro). Every kid had a life vest and a man with a motor boat was constantly patrolating around the park.
  The roads in Rhodes are really good and therefor you can travel safely and fast towards any place. We went to visit the town of Rhodes, the Faliraki water park, the Butterfly forest. A lot of unique places to visit.
  Returning to Marysol villa, the pool was very appropriate for us. Very clean and warm. Mary, the host and her husband, Manolis, took very good care of the entire house, the yard and the pool. Mary is a very warm person. She received us with a nice welcome bascket. I don't usually like to come back in the same location twice, but at Marysol villa I will do an exception.

  A spacious, comfortable house where all kinds of details are provided.
  We stayed as a large family of 7 people and did not have the slightest problem.
  Mary is a tremendous host who supports for everything you need at any time
  Some days, we didn't feel like going out of the house and we spent the whole day at home, we had a barbecue enjoyed the pool and had an amazing full moon.

  The villa was outstanding with great outside space. The pool was a perfect size and the bbq brilliant for preparing food in the evenings. inside the villa had everything we needed, the bedroom were all good sizes, the number of bathrooms suited us perfectly and the living space was open with everything we needed. The villa had excellent air conditioning which was needed given the outside temperature. In addition to the villa was the host / owner Mary, who even before we arrived provided exceptional service. Mary was friendly, welcoming and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. Mary ensures we had everything we needed and was contactable throughout our stay. she arranged for shopping to be delivered and even for the supermarket owner to drive us to and from the supermarket to carry out a large shop!
  
  What could be improved: Nothing the villa is exceptional.

  Mary very kindly met us in person to show us around and to provide us with the keys. Very lovely and welcome reception to start the holiday with a basket of fruit and immediate amenities. The rooms were exceptionally clean and we had a maid provide a turn down service with clean towels and bedding twice during our 10 day stay. The pool was serviced almost daily while we were there and the facilities were excellent. We loved the location; out the way of Rhodes' main resorts yet easy to get to and from the highlights Rhodes has to offer. Mary was an absolutely lovely person and was excellent at communicating and ensuring we were having a comfortable stay. She was always on hand if there were any problems.
  
  What could be improved: We loved the location, the villa and the local area. We would like to have seen a few more things to use in the Kitchen such as plastic cups for the pool area and the fridge was not so cool but these are all very minor things. It was an absolutely fantastic stay.

  Die Vermieterin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wünsche wie z. B. ein gescheites Messer zum Brotschneiden wurden gekauft, aufgetretene Mängel wie z.B. ein gebrochenes Stuhlbein oder kaputte Schrauben wurden umgehend instandgesetzt (Vermieterin wohnt nicht weit entfernt)
  
  Der Pool wurde regelmäßig gereinigt, die Zimmer mehrfach gereinigt und neue Handtücher bereitgestellt (14-tägiger Urlaub).
  
  What could be improved: Laut meinen Kindern ist die W-LAN-Verbindung ausbaufähig. manchmal hatten wir kurzzeitig keinen Empfang.

  Das Haus ist ein Traum, alles ist genau wie beschrieben. Sehr sauber und großzügig. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich, spricht gut Deutsch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
