So here’s the thing about Marilena Mare – it’s one of those places that gets everything right without trying too hard, you know? I mean, when you first pull up to this seaside house in Ialyssos, it honestly doesn’t scream “fancy resort,” but that’s exactly what makes it work. It’s tucked away from the main strip where all the tour buses rumble past, but close enough that you can walk to those beachfront tavernas everyone talks about (honestly, skip the touristy ones and head toward the fishing boats – that’s where the locals eat).

The whole setup is refreshingly straightforward – you’ve got your seaside location, which actually means something here because you can hear the waves from most rooms, and that jacuzzi situation is legit. Not some tiny hotel hot tub, but proper outdoor jacuzzis where you can sit with a drink and watch the sun do its thing over the Aegean. The staff runs the place like it’s their own house, which I guess in a way it sort of is – very Greek family hospitality without the overwhelming hovering. They’ll tell you exactly which beach spots get crowded (avoid weekends near the windsurfing center unless that’s your scene) and where to catch the bus to Rhodes town if you don’t want to deal with parking in the old city.

What really gets me is the attention to details that actually matter. The rooms stay cool even in peak summer – and I was there in August when Ialyssos gets proper hot. There’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase, and the bathrooms have that rainfall shower situation that’s become standard but actually works here. The whole place has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to stay an extra day or three. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Filerimos Hill if you’re into ancient ruins and panoramic views (go at sunset, trust me), and the beach access is ridiculously easy – no schlepping your gear down clifftop paths or fighting for umbrella space. The 9.7 rating isn’t some booking site fluke; it’s what happens when a place consistently delivers without the drama. It’s not trying to be the flashiest spot on the island, but honestly? After bouncing around Greece for years, sometimes the best experiences come from places that just nail the fundamentals and let the location do the talking.

  The location is perfect! It is easy to go to Rhodes town by bus, by bike or even using electric scoots :). There are supermarkets close, the beach is practically infront of the house. The view from the main terrace is beautiful, you can see the sunrise and sunset perfectly from the jacuzzi! There is plenty of room in the house and it is very clean, and you can find everything you need.
  The mother of the owner, who lives next door, was a lovely, friendly lady, and so was the owner, always ready to help, when we asked something.
  
  What could be improved: Extra key for the house would be useful. We didn't want to use the jacuzzi, because the water was cold and it is not allowed to heat it. However, it did not bother us.

  We loved everything about our stay. Valasia and her mom were the best hosts and made us feel at home straight away. The house is comfortable and cosy and the location is perfect, next to the beach. We couldn’t wish for any better!

  We arrived in a taxi, in the dark. Initially we were a little confused where the property was, but the owner's mother came and found us and directed us to the property and handed over the keys so, overall, a good experience

  A great house on one floor, with many terraces, nice rooms that are decorated with good taste. Cleanliness 100%

  Fabulous welcome on arrival by host's mother. Great location, just seconds walk from beach, restaurant and bars.
  Good communications with owner via WhatsApp so was met with the keys on arrival. Villa is decorated very modernly and has everything you need for the stay. Amazing views of the sea from various balconies.
  Complimentary bottles of wine which was a nice touch.
  We really enjoyed our stay here. The building is quiet at night, away from noise and busy streets.
  Good amount of plug sockets in the villa.
  Check out was easy as you just leave the keys on the table and close the door behind you

  We stayed here for 14 days. We are a family of 5 3 adults 2 older children. The villa comprises of 3floors, ground floor is the large entrance hall. 1st floor had 3 bedrooms 1double and two single although the owner put a second single in one of the rooms for us. A large bathroom and terrace each bedroom had a small balcony. The 2nd floor was kitchen bathroom lounge and terrace. The house was very clean and modern and had all facilities you could need. It has plenty of street parking down a quiet road and a small patio garden. The house is less than 2 min walk to a pebble beach there are many restaurants and bars within a short walk. The owner of the house was the best host I have stayed in she was able to give lots of tips for places to visit and eat at not touristy. There is a bigger supermarket and a lovely bakery only 5 min drive. The house is located approx 20 mins from roads old town, 25 mins from Faleraki sand beaches and a hour from Lindos.I would definitely recommend this house and if we return to Rhodes we would stay here. Thank you!

  The villa doesn’t have a pool which we knew when we booked it. Normally we would have a villa with pool but didn’t seem to be many in Rhodes.

  We loved this super clean and very quite house with everything you need for nice and relaxing vocation. Only 2 minutes walking to the beach where you can find also sun beds. Also important the fantastic view as you can enjoying the sunrise early morning or the sunset afternoon and the sea view out of the balcony’s house . The The town of Rhodes and the Old town is 10 minutes by car and the house is walking distance to restaurants, super market, bars, farmaci. We really enjoyed the grate garden and the big balcony having our dinner and our coffee there. There is a parking area exactly out of the house. Absolutely recommendable !! The host was very helpful and did everything to make us feel comfortable

  The Host was very informative, gave lots of information and really made an effort to make us feel informed and comfortable. (Although we didn't actually meet) – great communication, she provided a wealth of ideas and suggestions and some of which were really great, maybe something you don't find on regular websites.
  
  The apartment was fresh, had more than enough room for the 3 of us. 2 bathrooms with showers made life easy and there was more than enough constant hot water. There were also facilities to cover everything, even toiletries.
  
  There are 2 terraces and both have sea views. We could have breakfast on the lower level before the sun hits it, it was very special.
  
  The upper terrace is perfect for the evening relax with a great view of the sea. The beach is just a very short walk.
  
  I think the pictures represent everything very well, I had absolutely no complaint and I do intend to go back again and have another very enjoyable experience.
  
  THANK YOU VERY MUCH for everything and especially the taxi to the airport and allowing us to keep the bags in the apartment a little while longer! Fabulous experience.

  Marilena Mare Seaside& Jacuzzi House'da 5-8 Haziran 2025 tarihleri arasında konakladık. Bizi evde karşılayan ev sahipleri tüm evi gezdirdi. Bize şarap, karpuz, kurabiyeler vs. ikram ettiler. 3 katlı evin orta katında 3 yatak odası ve bir banyo var. Tüm odaları balkonlu, çatı katında ise güzel bir mutfak, banyo, televizyon köşesi, harika deniz manzaralı ve jakuzili bir teras var. Mutfakta ve banyolarda ihtiyaç duyulabilecek herşey fazlasıyla var. Çocuklu iki aile burada çok rahatça kalabilir. Denize yürüyerek 1 dk mesafede. Old Town ve şehir merkezine ise arabayla 15 dk. mesafede. Evin her köşesi tertemizdi, ev sahibimiz Valasia rezervasyon tarihinden itibaren her konuda bize çok yardımcı oldu, bizimle whatsapp üzerinden hep iletişimde kaldı, plajlar, restoranlar, gezilecek yerler konusunda müthiş bilgiler verdi. Tavsiyelerini tecrübe ettik ve çok memnun kaldık. Annesi ise neredeyse her gün çocuklarımıza küçük hediyeler ve atıştirmalıklar verdi. Valasia ve çok tatlı, kıymetli annesine bu eğlenceli tatil için, bizi çok güzel ağırladıkları için ve hep güler yüzlü oldukları için çok teşekkür ederiz. Yine geleceğiz…
