Hotel Description

You know what? Maria Studios & Apartments is one of those places that just gets it right. I mean, when you’re walking down Dimokratias street in Kremasti, you might almost miss it at first – it’s not flashy or trying too hard to grab your attention. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s well-organized place rather than some sterile hotel chain.

The thing about Kremasti is that it’s perfectly positioned between the airport (you’ll hear the occasional plane, but it’s not obnoxious) and the main strip of Rhodes, which means you’re close enough to everything without being stuck in tourist chaos. Maria’s place really capitalizes on this – you get the authentic Greek neighborhood vibe with old guys playing backgammon at the corner café, but you can still hop on a bus and be at the medieval town in like twenty minutes. The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, actually. I was expecting typical cramped European accommodation, but there’s real kitchen space where you can spread out your farmers market haul (and trust me, the Saturday market in town is worth the trip). The studios work well too if you’re just passing through, though I’d spring for an apartment if you’re staying more than a couple nights.

What really sold me on the place was the attention to practical stuff that other places somehow miss. The Wi-Fi actually works in every corner – I tested it because I’m paranoid about these things. There’s decent parking right there, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate Rhodes with a rental car, you’ll know is basically gold. The owner, Maria, seems to have this sixth sense about timing too. She appeared right when I was struggling with the coffee machine (which is fancier than what I have at home, honestly) but otherwise left me completely alone. The whole property stays surprisingly quiet even though you’re right in the neighborhood – something about the way it’s set back from the street, I think. Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything works properly and feels clean without that overwhelming bleach smell some places have. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there for a day or two – it’s the kind of place where small thoughtful touches add up to something really comfortable.

  Great location. Quiet but close to centre of Kremasti with a selection of bars & tavernas. Kremasti is on the flight path so there is the noise from the planes coming into land but we don't find this a problem.
  Our room was spacious. Communication from the host was good & we collected the keys from the lovely lady in the supermarket which is just a few steps away. We pass through Rhodes quite often & we would definitely stay here again.

  The location of the appartment was excellent. We liked the small shop under the building. The appartment was a short walk distance from the sea. You can go along a small road with nice trees to the see. The local butcher was in the nearby too with very delicious sausages. The apparment was cosy and calm with a good air conditioner. We spent a whole week there.
