Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes, but Lydia Maris Resort & Spa in Kolymbia genuinely surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. You know how some five-star places feel stuffy or try too hard? This one actually gets it right. The moment you pull up (parking’s easy, by the way), you’re hit with this Mediterranean elegance that doesn’t feel forced. It’s perched right where Kolymbia’s famous eucalyptus-lined road meets the coast, so you get these incredible views without the chaos of Rhodes Town.

What really sold me was how they handle the details. The spa – honestly, I’m usually skeptical of hotel spas, but this one’s legit. They use local herbs and oils, and you can actually smell the lavender and rosemary from the gardens when you’re getting a treatment. The pools are positioned so you’re not staring at your neighbor’s lunch, and the beach access is seamless. Kolymbia Beach isn’t as crowded as Lindos (thank god), but it’s got that same crystal-clear water. The staff here actually knows the area – when I asked about hiking trails, the concierge didn’t just hand me a brochure, he drew me a little map to this hidden viewpoint above Tsambika that most tourists never find.

Here’s the thing though – that 8.1 rating makes sense when you dig deeper. The rooms are gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, with those marble bathrooms and private terraces, but some of the older wings could use a refresh. I mean, it’s not a dealbreaker, just… you know, little things like bathroom fixtures that have seen better days. But honestly? The location more than makes up for it. You’re fifteen minutes from Anthony Quinn Bay (seriously, go there for sunset), and the staff can arrange these small boat trips that skip the tourist crowds entirely. During shoulder season – April or October – this place is absolutely perfect. Summer gets busy, naturally, but even then it never felt overwhelming like some of the mega-resorts down the coast. The breakfast spread is ridiculous in the best way, with local cheeses and honey that’s probably from somewhere within walking distance, and they make this Greek coffee that’ll wake the dead. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between luxury and authenticity on Rhodes, this is it.

  Really nice hotel, amazing food (also local one), no half finished food which is just warmed up as in some other hotels
  Possibility of late check out, till 15 (40 eur), 18 (60 eur)
  I asked for late check out and I had to move but this was a great upgrade bcd I had to move to a room in 1st floor which had a pool!
  
  What could be improved: Fitness would need some renovation, machines are a bit old, but if you wanna stay in your routine workout it is ok

  The pool was good. And the outdoor pizza was also good.

  What could be improved: 1.The foods quality was really bad. So many difrent food, but the taste was not good or there was no taste in most of the foods. Even egg taste nothing.

  It was absolutely immaculate. The cleaners and all the staff take so much pride in keeping the resort, food areas, and gardens clean and tidy. The food was really good! You were able to choose from the buffet breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or there was a Grill Bar that served Gyros or an on-site pizzeria.
  
  What could be improved: We had a room with a shared pool, and even though the outside was very nice and modern, the interior could do with an update. As a personal preference, the mattress was really hard.

  Very nice pools with plenty of space and good water temperature. The location was also good very close to the main street in Kolympia.
