You know what? I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Rhodes, but Louloudi Hills Villa 1 actually surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. It’s tucked up on the Eparchiaki Odos in Koskinou, which honestly sounds intimidating if you don’t know the area, but it’s basically this perfect spot where you’re close enough to everything without being stuck in the tourist chaos down by the harbor.

The first thing that hits you when you pull up (and yes, there’s proper parking – thank god, because driving around Rhodes Old Town is a nightmare) is how quiet it gets once you step inside. I mean, you can still hear the occasional motorbike on the road, but there’s this lovely garden area that sort of buffers everything. The villa itself has that authentic Greek charm without feeling like someone’s trying too hard – you know those places where every single detail screams “LOOK HOW GREEK WE ARE”? This isn’t that. The rooms are actually spacious, which is rare for the islands, and the beds are proper comfortable. I slept better here than I did at some five-star places in Lindos, honestly.

What really sold me on this place was the location knowledge the owners have. They pointed me toward this little taverna about ten minutes walk away – not the touristy ones everyone talks about, but where actual locals go for Sunday lunch. And here’s the thing about Koskinou that most people don’t realize: you’re literally fifteen minutes from Rhodes town if you want the nightlife and shopping, but you can also hit some of the quieter beaches on the east coast without dealing with the Faliraki crowds. The villa sits right in that sweet spot. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no waiting around for someone to show up with keys, no complicated explanations about how the shower works. Everything just… worked. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re trying to enjoy a Greek holiday without the headaches.

  Great space, very clean, quiet and peaceful location. Lovely views, Superb pool and bathrooms for each bedroom. Towels replaced mid stay which was welcomed and pool water checked. Great blackout shutters on every window/ door & air conditioning in every room. Hosts very helpful and great communication throughout the booking process and stay.
  
  What could be improved: Located at the bottom of a very steep hill with bumpy lane which taxis and tour operators refuse to travel down. This meant walking up to meet them etc. We had a car so not always an issue but others may need to be aware.
  
  House could have a few more accessories (bowls/ spare bedding and pillows, a few pool toys/ kids games etc) but otherwise it was adequate. The beds were quite firm & we personally would prefer alight duvet over sheets.
