So I stumbled across Louis Luxury Villa by living in blue (yeah, the name’s a bit quirky, but stick with me) during one of those deep-dive booking sessions where you’re clicking through endless hotel pages. It’s tucked along Leoforos Kallitheas in Rhodes Town, and honestly? The location turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t expect from a 4-star place.

Here’s what actually matters – you’re close enough to the medieval Old Town that you can walk there without breaking a sweat, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling back to their hotels at 2 AM. The Kallitheas avenue itself is pretty busy during the day (typical Greek traffic, you know), but the villa sits back from the main road so it’s surprisingly quiet once you’re inside. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional motorbike – this is Greece after all – but nothing that’ll keep you up. The whole setup feels more residential than touristy, which I loved. There’s actually a little local bakery about a five-minute walk away where the owner barely speaks English but makes these incredible spinach pies that became my breakfast routine.

What struck me most was how the place manages to feel both polished and relaxed at the same time. The rooms have this clean, modern vibe without being sterile – think white linens and blue accents (hence the “living in blue” thing, I guess), but with enough character that it doesn’t feel like every other boutique hotel you’ve stayed in. The bathrooms are genuinely nice, with those rainfall showers that actually have decent water pressure. Small thing, but you know how disappointing it is when a place looks great in photos then you’re standing under a sad trickle of lukewarm water. Check-in was smooth – the staff spoke excellent English and actually gave useful recommendations, not just the generic “go see the Palace of the Grand Masters” spiel.

The 8.5 rating makes sense once you spend a few days there. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but everything works well and feels thoughtful. Pool area’s compact but well-maintained, perfect for cooling off in the afternoon heat. Parking was easier than expected too – there’s space on-site, which saves you from playing the dreaded Rhodes Town parking lottery. If I’m being picky, the breakfast spread could use a bit more variety (very standard continental stuff), and the WiFi got a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone was online. But honestly, those are minor complaints. The whole experience felt like staying at a well-run local place that happens to have hotel-level service, rather than some impersonal chain property. If you’re looking for something comfortable in Rhodes Town without the tourist trap markup, this spot’s worth considering – especially if you value being able to slip away from the crowds when you need a break.

  Beautiful, large and comfortable villa with a lovely pool. Communication was so easy and they were very kind and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Walking along the busy road to get to places from the villa. There was no road noise inside the villa, however, and it wasn't a problem around the pool area.
  
  A way to drive wasps away in the evening would be nice.

  The property was an absolute dream!!! We were spoilt for choice with the amount of sitting sofas in the Villa! The Villa is bigger than you can ever imagine. The villa has fantastic air con in every room, keeping the place cool throughout the day. The beds were very comfortable. Swimming pool and outdoor facilities also blew us away. If you are thinking about booking, take the risk free plunge and enjoy a luxurious holiday.

  Incredible property in a fantastic location with short journeys to access both Rhodes Town and Falaraki. The outside pool and area is beautiful and the views from this area and the balconies are simply stunning. The host Pantelis was extremely friendly and helpful – fast to respond to all queries and arranged transfers for us. Strongly recommended for any trip to Rhodes.

  What could be improved: The name of the property is misleading, maybe it was a "luxury"Vila but when it was built, 20 years ago. The villa is quite dated, all bathrooms are in need of renovation, the plumbing doesn't work properly, it takes ages for the water to drain from the showers and baths. No hot water in the morning. The kitchen is sparsely equipped, fridges are not working properly, iron has seen better times.
  None of the plugs near the pool work, nor is the shower or the tap in the sink next to the BBQ area.
  The location near the busy road makes it difficult to relax during the day.
  On top of this the whole property is in need of a deep clean. We would not return.
