Hotel Description
You know what really caught me off guard about Lindos Calmare Suites? It’s tucked right into the village itself on Theodosiou Anastasiadi street – and I mean properly tucked in, not some generic hotel claiming to be “in the heart of” somewhere while actually being a 20-minute walk away. When you step out the front door, you’re literally surrounded by those gorgeous whitewashed buildings that make Lindos so famous, with narrow cobblestone paths winding everywhere. The morning light hitting those white walls is honestly incredible – I found myself taking the same photo three times because the shadows kept shifting.
The suites themselves feel way more spacious than you’d expect from a 4-star place. I stayed in one of the upper-level rooms and the terrace view was… well, let’s just say I spent way too much time out there with my coffee. You can see bits of the Acropolis perched up on that dramatic cliff, plus glimpses of the azure bay beyond the village rooftops. The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe that works perfectly with the traditional architecture – none of that overdone “Greek island” theming that can feel so forced. Actually, the bed was surprisingly comfortable (sometimes these boutique places skimp on mattresses), and the air conditioning was a lifesaver during those sweltering July afternoons.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. When I asked about hiking up to the Acropolis, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic brochure – he told me to go early morning around 8 AM before the tour buses arrive, and to take the path that starts behind the old captain’s house (locals will know what you mean if you ask). He was absolutely right; by 10 AM that place turns into a zoo. The walk down to St. Paul’s Bay is literally five minutes from the hotel, though fair warning – those stone steps can be a bit treacherous if you’ve had a few drinks at dinner. The beach there is pretty spectacular, especially if you can snag one of the loungers under the tamarisk trees.
Parking can be tricky since you have to leave your car at the village entrance and walk in with your luggage, but honestly, that’s just Lindos for you – the whole historic center is pedestrian-only. The hotel staff will help you with bags if you ask, which is a nice touch. One small thing that bugged me was the WiFi got spotty in the evenings when everyone was online, but I mean, you’re in one of the most beautiful villages in Greece – maybe put the phone down anyway? The breakfast spread was solid without being fancy – proper Greek yogurt, local honey, fresh bread, and strong coffee. Nothing revolutionary, but it hit the spot before heading out to explore.
With a 9.1 rating, this place clearly knows what it’s doing. It’s not trying to be some massive resort with every amenity under the sun – it’s just a really well-run hotel in an absolutely stunning location where you can fall asleep to the sound of waves and wake up surrounded by 2,000-year-old history.

Love this property so pretty. Location is fab central for restaurants and bars but also close to St Paul’s bay. There is even an electric buggy service to save the walk up the hill. We stayed in Cassandra it is exactly like the photos contemporary, clean has everything you need and a couple we weren’t expecting. We ate out mostly but there is a kettle, coffee maker great for the mornings and also a sandwich maker and air fryer which did a fab job of warming croissants. We were concerned it might be noisy being so central but sound proofing in the property is great so not an issue.
George the host was fab sent self check in instructions and other useful information the day before. Responded quickly to questions. Would definitely recommend.

Clean and newly remodeled. Our room had an upstairs and downstairs with a balcony. Around the corner was a breakfast lunch bar, and we were next to an ancient amphitheater …needs some archaeological students to fix it up… but amazing to see…just outside our room! Trying to locate the wonderful view photos! I took so many! Would definitely recommend.

What could be improved: Everything was perfect…Gary from United Kingdom – 14 October 2024 (9/10)
In a good location in Lindos very central but also a very quiet area
Wow factor with high wooden ceiling and split area upstairs
Great rooftop terrace
What could be improved: Lack of storage area as its mostly open plan
It would be an issue with two couples staying as just one very small wardrobe and a small area to hang lots upstairs
