Ixia is one of those spots that locals know about but doesn’t get overwhelmed with tour buses, which is exactly what you want. You’re positioned perfectly between Rhodes town and the airport, meaning you can actually explore the medieval city without feeling like you’re staying in a museum. The beach here is decent — not the most spectacular on the island, I’ll be honest, but it’s walkable and the sunsets are pretty incredible. What I really appreciated was having free private parking right on site, because let me tell you, finding parking in Rhodes during summer can be a nightmare.

The Experience

The property has this relaxed, almost residential feel that makes you forget you’re staying at a hotel. It’s not trying to be something it’s not — no pretentious lobby or over-the-top amenities — just solid, comfortable accommodation that gets the basics absolutely right. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re trying to unwind. I mean, sometimes you just want to feel like you’re staying with friends rather than being processed through a hospitality machine.

  We stayed at la vie est belle for 6 nights and had a fantastic time. Highly recommend. Very clean. We arrived late but there was a key safe which allowed us access.
  It certainly has the wow factor. Greeted by a lovely patio area with hot tub and seating. The kitchen was a large island and well equipped for cooking. Large fridge and freezer was perfect. Was really nice as there was some chilled water bottles in the fridge which were really welcomed after a long flight. Complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch! There’s a large dining table and sofa area which was nice to relax in. 2 bedrooms, shower, bathroom and washing machine. Was nice to be able to do some washing before returning home. We had a late night flight home and they allowed us to stay to 7pm which was really great.
  The location is brilliant. 5 minute walk and there are bars, shops and restaurants. We particularly liked a place called villa di mare which had a pool and €5 euro per day sun loungers. The bus stop was a 5 minute walk away, handy for Rhodes town. Highly recommend this apartment. Will return again!

  The property, was exceptional in every regard. The tranquility of the location was ideal for a relaxing stay, and the indoor design was simply amazing, with elegant decorations and a well-planned layout that made our stay delightful.
  
  What could be improved: The only minor inconvenience was the distance to the nearest market, bakeries, and general shops, which were about 5-10 minutes away by foot. However, regarding the house itself, there were absolutely no negatives, everything was well-maintained and pleasing.
