Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to La Marquise – you know how these big resort complexes can be hit or miss. But the moment you walk through those doors, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually put thought into the details here. The lobby has this warm, Mediterranean elegance without feeling stuffy, and the staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing (which, if you’ve traveled much in Greece, you’ll appreciate isn’t always a given).
What really won me over was the location situation. Look, Faliraki gets a bad rap for being too touristy, but here’s the thing – La Marquise sits right on that sweet spot between Faliraki and Kallithea beach where you get the best of both worlds. You’re close enough to walk to the main strip if you want that energy, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the late-night noise from the beach bars. The Kallithea Springs are literally a short stroll away, which most people don’t realize until they’re already there. I mean, you’ve got these incredible thermal springs and Byzantine-era ruins right at your doorstep – it’s like having a secret escape route from resort life.
The rooms themselves are solid – I’d say they live up to that 5-star rating, though the 8.2 guest score feels about right. Everything works, the beds are actually comfortable (not just pretty), and the balcony views over the Aegean are genuinely spectacular, especially at sunset. The pool area is where this place really shines though. It’s large enough that you can find a quiet corner even during peak season, but designed in a way that doesn’t feel like you’re swimming in a parking lot. The poolside service is surprisingly attentive – they remember your drink order after the second day, which is a nice touch.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I went: parking is easy and free, which is huge if you’re planning to rent a car and explore the island. The breakfast buffet is actually worth getting up for, especially if you grab a table on the terrace before 9 AM. And if you’re there in July or August, the air conditioning in the rooms is powerful enough to actually cool things down, not just move hot air around. The beach access is direct, but bring water shoes – the pebbles can be rough on bare feet, and the hotel shop charges resort prices for them. One small thing that bugged me was the Wi-Fi can be spotty in some rooms, though it’s solid in the common areas.
What sets La Marquise apart from other resorts along this stretch is that it feels like they’re trying to give you an authentic Greek experience rather than just a generic Mediterranean vacation. The evening entertainment isn’t cheesy (well, mostly), and they actually showcase local musicians and dancers regularly. You’ll find yourself chatting with other guests who aren’t just there for the cheapest package deal – people who chose this place specifically, which makes for a better overall vibe.

very nice Hotel with pools.
Unfortunately the heating didn't work the first night and we were really cold. Upon contacting reception, blankets were offered. Only after the next day we spoke to another guest was it reported that there were heat spreaders. The next day they brought a radiator that did not work and only after another turn they brought a heat spreader that already provided a solution. Apart from the above the hotel is excellent, spacious, clean and lots of food options. Unfortunately the hot tub didn't work!!!!
What could be improved: That the heating system did not work and that they did not provide a solution on their own initiative until after our request. We were in a period when it was still cold.
And the jacuzi didn't workHani from Israel – 30 August 2022 (9/10)

I wish we booked more than 4 nights.
What could be improved: NothingShuaib from United Kingdom – 5 July 2022 (7/10)
nice location, very clean, friendly staff
What could be improved: Considering it was a 5 Star, room facilities could have been better e.g. there was no iron so we had to wear creased clothes. Also tea and coffee making facilities were basic. I have stayed in many 4 star hotels with iron and ironing board in the rooms. There was also NO thermostatic control on the showers; this is a basic requirement in the UK and something you would expect from a 5 star resort. There was no universal point in the bathroom making it impossible to charge a shaver or electric toothbrush if a visitor from abroad.
Gym and indoor pool facilities cannot be accessed before 10am which is frustrating for people to swim or work out before breakfast. Certain guests were given free reign to break hotel rules, especially in the gym, when some guests would turn up anytime they wanted to the Gym when other guests had booked, hogging some of the gym equipment e.g. treadmill, without a thought for those who had actually booked their one hour session. The sauna was not working although advertised on the list of hotel amenities.
There were some ground floor rooms where sun-beds in front of those rooms ( 15 feet in front but around the pool) were regarded as belonging to the guests in those rooms so everyone with rooms on upper floors had to compete for the other sun beds which was difficult if you did not get there early. .Several times my daughter was asked to move after sitting on a sun-bed deemed to belong to certain guests in a certain room, either by the guests themselves ( often rude) or by the pool attendant. Many a time these sun-beds would remain empty all day but still no one else was allowed to use them. A ridiculous rule which shows favouritism to certain guests who were fortunate to be assigned ground floor rooms looking out onto the pools. We all paid pretty much the same for pool view rooms, whether ground floor or upper floors!Lee from United Kingdom – 19 October 2023 (8/10)
Hotel staff were brilliant. Hard working polite and very attentive. Did get the impression they are over worked and should have more support from the owners/management
What could be improved: Power shower was faulty. Bar staff were slow in main bar.Vanessa from United Kingdom – 21 July 2023 (7/10)
Facilities are good and confortable
What could be improved: Reception staff very desorganised and comunication not goodYemi from United Kingdom – 16 September 2022 (8/10)
The pool. The activities, The beach. I really liked the staff – so professional. Especially all the staff at reception & those driving the shuttle cars. Excellent!
What could be improved: Additional meals are expensive. There should also be a more varied meal ideas in the buffet
