You know what’s funny about Stegna? Most people rush straight to Lindos or stay in Rhodes Town, but honestly, they’re missing out on this little stretch of coast near Archangelos. Ktima Argyrou sits right here in this sweet spot where you get the authentic Greek island vibe without feeling like you’re fighting crowds for a decent photo. The place has this 9.7 rating that initially made me skeptical – I mean, come on, nobody’s perfect – but after spending time there, I actually get it.

The property itself feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than some sterile hotel chain. It’s got that four-star polish without being stuffy about it, you know? The rooms are thoughtfully put together with local touches that don’t feel forced or touristy. What really sold me though was stepping out onto the terrace in the morning – there’s this view that stretches across the valley toward the coast, and you can actually hear the waves from Stegna Beach even though you’re tucked up in the hills. The owners clearly know this area inside and out; they’ll point you toward the family taverna down in Archangelos that doesn’t even have a sign (seriously, just look for the blue chairs) or tell you exactly when to hit Stegna Beach to avoid the day-trip boats from Rhodes.

I’ll be honest, the location takes a bit of explaining to taxi drivers if you’re coming from the airport – it’s not exactly on the main tourist trail. But that’s sort of the point, isn’t it? You’re close enough to explore the eastern coast beaches, maybe twenty minutes from Lindos when you want that Instagram castle shot, but far enough from the madness to actually relax. The road up can be a bit winding if you’re driving (parking’s no problem though), and evenings are wonderfully quiet except for the occasional goat bell echoing from somewhere in the hills. What struck me most was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about whether you found that hidden cove they recommended or if the local bus schedule worked out for your day trip. Places with ratings this high sometimes rest on their laurels, but Ktima Argyrou feels like they’re still trying to earn it every day – which, honestly, makes all the difference when you’re trying to actually experience Rhodes rather than just tick it off a list.

  Very cozy house and beautiful location surrounded by mountains. We loved to watch sunrises every morning. Rooms are spacious and there was everything we needed.
  
  What could be improved: I recommend to have car, because it is more easier to get to the Stegna beach. Otherwise, you have to climb a bit on a way back 🙂

  The owner was super helpful, she communicated with us before arriving. We visited in December and the house was beautifully decorated, which made it feel extra special. Also we got to use the fireplace which made it extra cosy. The house has a very welcoming atmosphere, the terrace is great and has a view over the ocean. The kitchen is very well equipped and everything works well. Also the bathroom was in order. The garden is beautiful and well kept and the house really has everything you need.

  Great location set uphill from the beach, giving great views of the Stegna bay. Accommodation was comfy, spacious and all good quality.

  Matina was the perfect hostess. Communications were timely, clear, and friendly. She was also very flexible in accommodating our needs. Welcome basket was a very nice touch and much appreciated. House is in great location and condition.

  Im Haus gab es absolut alles, was man sich nur wünschen konnte. Die Gastgeberin war bei jedem Problem oder Frage sofort ansprechbar. Wir kamen sehr spät an, aber wurden trotzdem sehr herzlich empfangen. In der Küche wartete auf uns ein ganzer Berg an lokalen Lebensmitteln, also konnten wir am nächsten Tag in Ruhe frühstücken. Die Familie wohnt in der Nähe und man fühlte sich die ganze Zeit als ein willkommener Gast, ohne eingeengt zu sein. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, hat einen tollen Ausblick, ruhig, der Strand ist toll. Man braucht schon ein Auto, wenn man nicht sehr sportlich ist, sondern so wie wir. Aber man kann am Grundstück wunderbar parken und die Gegend sollte man ohnehin mit dem Auto erkunden. Alles in allem waren wir restlos begeistert und würden sehr gerne wieder kommen.

  Die Aussicht auf die Bucht war sehr schön, sehr nett gestaltete Außenanlage, große gemütliche Terrasse, Küche gut ausgestattet und alles vorhanden.

  Tolle ruhige Lage, schönes gemütliches Haus, riesige Terrasse, schön angelegter Garten, Aircondition in allen Räumen und Fliegengitter an Fenster und Türen.
  Das Haus und die Lage, das gesamt Paket ergibt eine traumhafte Unterkunft, für einen wunderschönen Urlaub.
  Die Kommunikation mit Martina klappte sehr gut.
