You know what caught me off guard about the Kresten Palace? The name makes it sound way more formal than it actually is. I mean, it’s definitely got that classic Greek hotel vibe going on, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the place once you settle in. It sits right on Kallitheas Avenue – and if you know Rhodes at all, you’ll appreciate that this puts you in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to the action but far enough out to actually get some sleep at night.

The thing about this part of Kallithea is that it feels properly Greek, not like those resort bubbles where you could be anywhere in the Mediterranean. You’ve got actual neighborhoods around you, which honestly makes the whole experience more interesting. The hotel itself has that solid, established feel – it’s been around long enough to have figured out the basics, and the 7.8 rating feels about right. Not jaw-dropping, but reliable in all the ways that matter when you’re trying to enjoy a vacation. The staff actually seems to live in the area, so when you ask about where to grab dinner or how to get to that little beach everyone talks about, they’re giving you real local insight, not just pointing to the tourist traps.

What really works here is the location on Kallitheas Ave – you’re maybe ten minutes from Rhodes town if you catch a bus (and the bus stop is literally right there), but you’re also walking distance from some of those smaller beaches that don’t show up in every guidebook. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place – clean, comfortable, decent air conditioning that actually works during those brutal July afternoons. I’ll be honest, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything functions properly, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The pool area gets pretty busy during peak season, but if you time it right in the early morning or late afternoon, it’s actually quite peaceful. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which – trust me – is not something you can take for granted in this part of Greece. The whole place just has this settled, comfortable atmosphere where you can tell they’ve been doing this for a while and know how to take care of people without making a big fuss about it.

  Hotel was clean and nice. Breakfast was quite good. Service was great.
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast tasted quite average. Nothing special in it.
  Smell outside in our balcony was bad when we arrived. Some disturbing noise in our room was heard all night.

  Nice hotel, rooms. Close to the Kalithea springs and Rhodes
  
  What could be improved: It was really cold in the room. No heating. (April, cold windy and rainy weather). We asked for blankets, were told that the day after there will be a delivery of blankets, but it didnt happen. We had to freeze in the room, at night with multiple layers of clothes and cold noses.

  The hotel has parking spaces, and it is very convenient to drive to the attractions. The scenery of the hotel is also very good. You can relax here for a vacation. The breakfast is good ,The staff are very friendly and make us feel very warm.
  
  What could be improved: The hotel is large and well-equipped, but what I couldn't understand was that there was an electric kettle and cups in the room, but no tea or coffee. I asked the front desk and they told me that I needed to buy them in the store myself, which I found incredible.

  The room was clean and spacious with a nice, big balcony with seaview. The bed was very comfortable.
  The hotel is very big,with an outside pool area, a nice pool bar where all staff was very kind and helpful and a gym and a spa center which we didn't have enough time to try.
  There was a great variety of food and beverages in the breakfast buffet and everything was very fresh and delicious.
  It was a very comfortable short stay.
  
  What could be improved: There wasn't any toilet paper when we arrived. Of course we were given some when we reported it to the cleaners.
  The bath towels were clean but looked rather overused.

  What could be improved: Food, sadly it was tasteless and strange (Hot dog for breakfast?). We were given an evening meal for free and this was worse than the breakfast options sadly.
