You know what struck me first about Kolymbia Villas? The setting is honestly pretty perfect – it’s tucked into this residential area that feels genuinely Greek, not like those tourist-heavy strips where you hear more English than Greek. I mean, you’re still close enough to the main Kolymbia beach road that you can walk to those waterfront tavernas, but the villas sit back in this quieter pocket where you actually hear cicadas at night instead of late-night party noise.

The villa setup works really well if you’re tired of cramped hotel rooms. These aren’t massive places, but they’re thoughtfully laid out – proper kitchens where you can actually cook (not just those sad mini-fridges), and the outdoor spaces have character. Most have these little terraces where you end up having your morning coffee while planning the day, and honestly, that routine becomes part of the vacation charm. The whole complex has this low-key residential vibe that I really appreciated. Parking is straightforward too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling beach gear and groceries around Rhodes.

What really sells this place is the location knowledge you get from staying here. You’re close enough to walk to Kolymbia’s main beach – the one with the eucalyptus trees that everyone photographs – but you also discover these smaller coves nearby that day-trippers miss. The local bus connections are actually decent if you want to explore other parts of Rhodes without renting a car, though having wheels definitely opens up more options. I found myself driving to Lindos one morning and Anthony Quinn Bay another afternoon, both easy trips from here. The staff genuinely knows the area too – they’ll point you toward the better tavernas (there’s this family-run place about ten minutes away that doesn’t even have a proper sign) and give you realistic timing for different beaches depending on crowds. Check-in was refreshingly normal – no upselling, just helpful information about the area and villa specifics. The whole experience feels more like staying in a friend’s vacation home than dealing with hotel bureaucracy, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to unwind on a Greek island.

  Kolymbia Villas by StayOnRhodes was a perfect choice for our family holiday. The area is further from Rhodes Town, so a car rental or transfer is necessary (the host can help with this), but that turned out to be a huge plus. Renting a car was the best way to explore the island freely—far better than staying in a hotel and being tied to someone else’s meal schedule.
  
  The view from the villa’s terrace is breathtaking, facing the mountains—it’s like having nature in your backyard every day. The villa is well-maintained, clean, and spacious, spread over two floors with two bathrooms. All household essentials are provided, and everything is cleaned and refreshed weekly, including towels and bed linens.
  
  The pool is fantastic—refreshing, clean, and feels almost private. Usually, there were just a few people swimming, which made it super relaxing.
  
  The beach is just 5 minutes away on foot, with clear water and a slightly pebbly shore—definitely better than the beach in Rhodes Town. If you’re after soft sand, Tsambika Beach is a great option—just a short trip by bus or car from the villa. Sunbed prices there are around 15–20 EUR for two beds.
  
  There are plenty of nearby family-friendly tavernas. Our favorites were Michel and Olive Green, which always had something for both adults and kids. After dinner, the owners often surprise you with a little something local and homemade—true Greek hospitality.
  
  For those who prefer to cook, there’s a large supermarket a short walk away (map link) with everything you need, including ready-to-heat local meals.
  
  We truly loved the peaceful atmosphere, the freedom, and the feeling of home away from home. Highly recommended if you want to experience Rhodes at your own pace.

  Location was beautiful with the mountains behind us, just out of the main town so quiet , restaurant opposite called Olive groves excellent with friendly staff, the villas have well maintained gardens and the pool is large with a shallow end for kids. Air con in the villas gave much needed reprieve from the 38 degree plus heat, and the villas themselves were comfortable. We met the cleaning lady who was so good to us on the last day allowing us to keep our luggage at one of the villas our two families booked and also use the downstairs to keep cool and use as a base until late afternoon as our flight was after 10 at night, I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her kindness as it was so hot during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: it would be helpful to have an information folder about the local area, they are self catering apartments but we initially thought we could get what we needed from the supermarkets within walking distance but only the very essentials such as snacks, bread and milk are sold in these so definitely need a car, which we ended up renting and eventually found a supermarket a 5 minute drive away with fresh produce. An information folder with useful numbers, supermarkets and local points of interest etc would be a benefit.

  This place was amazing. We had a villa #2 that is probably the farest one from the pool but this was actually an advantage as it provided more privacy. The villa was cleaned regularly by a lady who made sure that we do not miss anything.

  Swimming pool, lots of space, convenient for town and beach and very clean, excellent communication. Would stay again in October as excellent value for money.

  We had great villa. Very clean and pool/yard was taking care well. House was clean and elias was great host for us. Vacation was like we want it with big group(with children): no stress about anything only resting and having a good time!

  We booked two villas, for our big family (kids,grandparents, brother and his family) all of us was very satisfied. We liked the quiet neighborhood. Kids liked the pool. We liked sitting at the terrace with a pool view. Everything was by hand. There is a restaurant next to it, with very friendly waitress Julia and delicious food. It is also close to the sea.

  I recommend this place for families or groups of friends. The house is spacious, clean and comfortable. There are kitchen utensils, lots of towels in the bathroom and towels for sunbeds and swimming. The owner is helpful and easy to contact by phone or WhatsApp. We had problems with internet connection and he brought us new modem the same day. We were also allowed to stay longer than regular check out hours because our flight was late in the afternoon. Don't hesitate to book this place!
  
  What could be improved: We had problems with water temperature in the bathroom. It was not enough warm for children to have a shower after cold days. Maybe it was possible to change but we didn't ask about it. On the other hand after hot days it was very hot.

  Big house, room for everyone. Pool and Jacuzzi were really nice. Nice host and easy contact. Possibility to store luggage on departure day. Very welcoming!
