You know, I’ve stayed at a lot of places along Rhodes’ southern coast, but Kipos Suites & Apartments in Gennadi honestly surprised me. When you first pull up along that stretch of Eparchiaki Odos – the main road that winds down from Lindos – it doesn’t look like much from the outside. Just another low-rise complex tucked between olive groves and that endless expanse of Aegean blue. But step inside and you realize someone actually thought about how people want to live when they’re on vacation.

The suites have this lived-in feel that’s hard to find at most hotels. I mean, you’ve got proper kitchens with full-size fridges (not those tiny hotel bar fridges), decent counter space, and all the little things you don’t think about until you need them – like enough electrical outlets and actual closet space. The apartments are even better if you’re staying more than a few days. Mine had this terrace that looked out over the village rooftops toward the sea, and honestly, I spent more time out there with morning coffee than I expected. The furniture’s comfortable without being fancy – sort of that Mediterranean casual thing that actually works.

What really sets this place apart is Gennadi itself. Most people race through on their way to Prasonisi or up to Lindos, but the village has this authentic rhythm that you miss in the busier resort towns. There’s a proper bakery just down the hill where locals actually go (you’ll smell the bread baking if you’re up early), and the beach – well, it’s one of those long stretches where you can walk for twenty minutes and still have room to spread out. The hotel’s about a ten-minute walk to the sand, which sounds like a hassle but actually isn’t. Plus, you avoid that beachfront noise and the constant parade of people that comes with it.

The staff here get it right without being overwhelming. Check-in was straightforward, they know the area well enough to give you real recommendations (not just the tourist traps), and when my air conditioning started making weird noises on the third day, someone was up to fix it within an hour. The pool area’s nothing spectacular, but it’s clean and quiet – perfect for those afternoon hours when the beach gets too hot. Parking’s easy, which matters more than you think when you’re hauling groceries and beach gear.

Look, this isn’t a luxury resort with marble lobbies and spa treatments. It’s a solid, well-run place where you can actually settle in and live a bit like a local. The 8.8 rating makes sense – it does what it promises without pretense. If you’re looking for that Instagram-perfect infinity pool moment, keep looking. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring the southern part of the island, with enough space to actually unpack and decent neighbors who aren’t partying until 3 AM, Kipos delivers. Just don’t expect much nightlife in Gennadi itself – you’ll need to drive to Lindos or back toward Rhodes town for that.

  We had a fantastic stay at these modern, clean apartments in Gennadi, Rhodes. The location was ideal—just a 5-minute walk to the center of Gennadi, giving us easy access to local tavernas and shops, yet far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Gennadi Beach was only a 10–15 minute walk away, which made for a pleasant stroll. On your walk you will see a local donkey, lots of kittens/cats and if you’re lucky some deer!
  
  The apartment was a perfect hub for our week exploring the island. Gennadi itself is a lovely, laid-back village. We’d definitely recommend having a car if you plan to travel around and visiting all that Rhodes has to offer!
  
  The peaceful pool area was a great place to unwind and relax, but the real highlight was Mr. Panos. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating—his warm hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable.
  
  Overall, a calm and comfortable place to stay in a charming part of the island. Highly recommended!

  Dopo un quarto d'ora di smarrimento per l'assenza di reception e impossibilità di raggiungere il numero telefonico del gestore, il soggiorno è stato piacevole. La casa è situata alla fine del paese, molto silenziosa. La piscina è piacevole e tutto molto pulito e funzionale. Assolutamente necessario avere una macchina o un motorino.
  
  What could be improved: Il paese di Gennadi è un intrico di case diroccate e carcasse di auto abbandonate.

  Logement bien placé dans Gennadi, a 5 mins de la rue principale où l'on peut trouver tous les restaurants et commerces nécessaire.
  Place de parking pour les véhicules.
  Salon de jardin sur la terrasse.
  Climatisation qui fonctionne très bien.
  Tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner et manger.
  Serviettes et draps de bain pour la piscine.
