You know what struck me first about Kalathos Square? It’s not actually in the village center like the name suggests – it sits right along the main Rhodes-Lindos road, which honestly works out perfectly because you’re literally two minutes from Kalathos Beach without dealing with the narrow village streets that rental cars weren’t meant for. I mean, parking here is straightforward, which already puts it ahead of half the places I’ve stayed on Rhodes.

The suites themselves are genuinely spacious – and I’m not talking about that European “spacious” where you can barely open your suitcase. These feel more like proper apartments with separate living areas and kitchens that you’d actually use. The design leans modern without being sterile, lots of white and blue (because, Greece) but done in a way that feels fresh rather than cliché. What I really appreciated were the little touches that show someone was thinking – good lighting by the beds, enough outlets for all your devices, and bathrooms with decent water pressure. The air conditioning actually works too, which you’ll need during those July afternoons when the temperature hits 35°C and even the locals are hiding indoors.

Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot between Rhodes Town and Lindos where you get the best of both without the tourist chaos of either. Kalathos Beach is this gorgeous stretch of sand that somehow stays relatively calm even in August – the bay faces west, so you get these incredible sunsets but the morning waters are usually pretty peaceful for swimming. The beach bars there are run by locals who’ve been doing this for years, not some chain operation, so the Greek salads are actually worth ordering. If you want to explore, Lindos is about 15 minutes south (though good luck finding parking there in summer), and you can reach Rhodes Town in maybe 45 minutes. There’s also this little family taverna called Platanos about 10 minutes inland that hardly any tourists know about – their lamb is incredible and it costs about half what you’d pay in Lindos.

Honestly, the 9.9 rating makes sense once you’ve been there. The staff actually remembers your preferences after a couple days, housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and the whole place just runs smoothly. I stayed during shoulder season in late September, so it was quieter, but I imagine even during peak summer the layout gives you enough space that it wouldn’t feel cramped. The pool area gets morning sun but has decent shade options by afternoon, and there’s something satisfying about having a proper coffee (they have a good machine, not instant) on your terrace while looking out toward the Aegean. It’s the kind of place where you actually end up extending your stay if you can – which, well, I did.

  Outstanding views, the villa was very comfortable, the area is quiet, breezy and serene, we really enjoyed relaxing by the Beautifull pool!
  Manolis is an exceptional and welcoming host he went out of his way to make sure we knew where everything was and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. If we visit Karpathos in the future, Karpathos villa would be the place for us.

  Everything was perfect, clean, modern with a Greek twist, had all the amenities, location was lovely and peaceful we loved being so close to Lindos, great supermarket a few minutes up the road in the car, the pool, the views, the outside area was all fab!!! The ginger and white cat was so lovely. Wine in the fridge on arrival. All amazing. We will definitely be back!

  A beautiful property, extremely clean, comfortable and with good facilities. A/C unit was effective at keeping the property cool on hot days. Communication was clear and helpful throughout.

  The location was peaceful with an amazing sea view from the balcony. The villa is very spacious and has been finished to a high standard.
  We loved that the property retained a lot of its heritage and character after its renovations from an old olive oil mill but was still incredibly modern.
  Kleovoulos, the host who met us at the property, was warm and welcoming. His English is very good and knowledge of the villa and area was great.
  He only lived a couple of minutes away and responded to our messages quickly.
  He gave us privacy and left us to enjoy our holiday.
  
  What could be improved: It's hard to pick fault, but if i had to be picky……
  The pool is not heated and was pretty cold.
  Hopefully, it will get an upgrade, which would make the villa faultless and put my score up to 10.
