Honestly, when I first pulled up to K Farm House, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the address says Ancient Kamiros, which sounds incredibly grand, but it’s actually this peaceful spot in Kalavárda that feels worlds away from the typical Rhodes hotel scene. You know what struck me first? The silence. Not that dead, eerie kind of silence, but this lovely quiet where you can actually hear birds and maybe some distant goat bells if the wind’s right.

The thing about staying here is that you’re genuinely close to one of those archaeological sites that most people rush through on day trips, but as a guest, you can sort of claim it as your own backyard. Ancient Kamiros is literally right there – I mean, you could walk over in the early morning when it’s still cool and have the ruins practically to yourself before the tour buses arrive around 10am. The family running K Farm House actually knows the site’s rhythms better than most guides, and they’ll casually mention things like “oh, the light’s perfect for photos around 7pm” or “skip the crowds and go Tuesday mornings.” That kind of insider knowledge you just don’t get at the big resort hotels down the coast.

What really won me over, though, was how the place manages to feel both rustic and polished – if that makes sense. The rooms have this authentic farmhouse charm (hence the name, obviously) but everything actually works properly. Hot water appears when you want it, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds are honestly some of the most comfortable I’ve slept in on the island. The breakfast situation deserves a mention too – they serve it on this terrace where you can see clear across to the sea on one side and inland toward the mountains on the other. Fresh figs when they’re in season, proper Greek yogurt that’s nothing like what you get at home, and coffee that’s strong enough to wake the dead.

I’ll be honest, the location isn’t for everyone – you’ll definitely want a rental car because public transport out here is pretty much nonexistent, and the nearest proper taverna is about a ten-minute drive toward Kamiros Skala (which, by the way, has this fantastic little fish restaurant right on the water that the locals frequent). But if you’re the type who actually likes having space to breathe and doesn’t need to be within stumbling distance of nightlife, this spot is pretty special. The 9.7 rating isn’t just inflated review bombing – it’s what happens when a place consistently delivers on a very specific promise of peace, authenticity, and genuine hospitality. Plus, parking is never an issue, which anyone who’s driven around Rhodes Town in summer will appreciate more than they can possibly express.

  amazing stay, owner wait for me until 3am (!!!) as my flight has major delay.
  Additionally I had a breakfast outside my room ready by 6am by super nice woman (owner of the property).

  A wonderfully peaceful place off the beaten path, with just a few apartments. It's a small farm with lovely hosts and friendly dogs. The owners speak good English and are very helpful. The apartment had a small fridge and all the essentials. A great stay on the windy west side of the island!

  We really enjoyed our 10 night stay at the farmhouse. Sanda and George are such kind hosts and really go the extra mile to ensure that your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Sanda will help you if you have any questions about the local area and beyond. The animals they look after so well was also a wonderful bonus for our stay and we will miss them all now we're back home.

  Sanda & George createt a lovely and grounding place to have a relaxing vacation. We really enjoyed our time, felt welcomed and pleased by such a lovely enviroment, people and animals.
  By using a rental car it's possible to reach almost any place you want to visit inwith just a few minutes. Farest point of the island we reached by car in 1,5 hour. If needed Sanda was always helping with recommending places. Perfect to visit Rhodos and feeling home!

  My husband and I had a lovely stay at K Farm House. We needed accommodations for one day before our next trip. Everything was perfect and our hosts Sanda and George could have not been any nicer. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our stay was short, so we did not need much. The air conditioner worked perfect, which was very important to us. At night, it was very quiet, the house is located further from the main road. Sanda cooked a very tasty breakfast for us using eggs from their own farm. Anything we needed, our hosts were happy to provide for us or at least to help us with any information they knew. We needed to take a taxi to Kamiros Scala port early in the morning, so George gladly offered to drive us before heading to work. Across the street there is a taverna, right on the beach with great food and very friendly owners and employees. We could not have been any happier with our stay at K Farm House!
