You know what caught me off guard about Jaana & Akis Holiday Home? It’s actually two separate properties (hence the “1&2” in the name), which I didn’t realize until I got there – but honestly, this turned out to be brilliant because they’ve got options for different group sizes and you’re not crammed into some massive hotel complex with hundreds of other tourists.

Haraki itself is this gorgeous little fishing village that most people just drive through on their way to Lindos, which means you get that authentic Greek island vibe without the crowds. The holiday homes sit perfectly positioned where you can walk down to the pebble beach in maybe three minutes – and I mean actually three minutes, not that “short walk” nonsense you usually get. The beach here is honestly one of Rhodes’ hidden gems; it’s got this lovely taverna right on the water where the fish is so fresh you’ll see the boats coming in with your dinner. Jaana and Akis clearly know their stuff when it comes to location because you’re close enough to hear the gentle lapping of waves at night (which is incredibly soothing), but far enough back that you don’t get the early morning fishing boat noise.

What really sets this place apart is the personal touch – these aren’t cookie-cutter apartments. Each unit feels like someone’s actual home, with proper kitchens where you can cook with ingredients from the local market, comfortable living spaces that don’t feel cramped, and those little details that matter, like good water pressure and air conditioning that actually works during those scorching August afternoons. The 8.6 rating makes total sense because while it’s not luxury resort territory, it delivers exactly what you want from a Greek island getaway. I particularly loved having my morning coffee on the balcony, watching the village wake up slowly – there’s something magical about the way the light hits those white-washed buildings around 7 AM. The parking situation is refreshingly stress-free too, which anyone who’s driven around Greek islands will appreciate.

If you’re the type who needs a concierge and room service, this probably isn’t your speed. But if you want to live like a local for a week, cook some of your own meals with amazing Greek ingredients, and have a proper base for exploring both the quieter side of Rhodes and the bigger attractions (Lindos is maybe 15 minutes by car), then Jaana & Akis have created something really special here. The four-star rating feels honest – it’s comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully run without any pretensions.

  Close to Haraki Bay and taverna overlooking the bay. Medieval Crusader castle behind town with trail to explore the ruins and see incredible view. Supermarket short drive away. Near main road to all parts of Rhodes.

  We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. Jaana is a very kind and helpful host. The apartment is clean and well equipped (having a washing machine was such a nice surprise!), a few steps from the beach and great tavernas. Haraki is a lovely place to stay with such a nice bay and amazing views from the castle ruin (it's definitely worth climbing up there when it's not so hot).

  Jaana was really friendly and welcoming, the house was clean and cozy, nothing to complain about.
  
  What could be improved: Although it was walking distance to the beach, it was not exactly with sea view. However the welcoming host and the cozy house have compensated.

  We loved absolutely everything! From the entire beginning contact with the owners was very nice and easy. Bottle of wine and fruits were such a lovely surprise. This small but adorable apartment is located just a few steps away from beautiful Haraki beach.

  Spacious bedroom. Well equipped kitchen. Homely. Complimentary wine fruit and water in the fridge. Lots of hot water. Comfy beds. Key safe box to put key in when you go out, saves from lost keys.
  
  What could be improved: Bathroom very cramped. Hot water was too hot (dangerously so). Shower head spayed out sideways. Spiral staircase was a challenge to anyone with mobility issues.

  The property exceeded our expectations. Jaana is the perfect host, very warm and friendly. The location of the property is few steps from all the great taverns in Haraki and also the beach, but in the same time it is in very quiet part of the village. The accommodation was equipped with everything we can need and was nicely decorated.
