Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to the Ixia Dream – I mean, the name sounds a bit cheesy, right? But this adults-only spot on Protogeni Street totally surprised me in the best way. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, someone actually thought this through”? That’s exactly what happened here.
The thing about Ixia is that it’s sort of this perfect middle ground between Rhodes Town’s tourist chaos and the quieter southern beaches. You’re literally a five-minute walk from some really decent stretches of pebble beach (bring water shoes, trust me), but you can also hop on a bus or grab a quick taxi into the old town when you want that medieval fortress vibe. What I really loved about the Dream’s location is that it sits just far enough back from the main coastal road that you don’t get the constant whoosh of traffic, but close enough that you can actually walk places without needing a car. The staff mentioned that most guests don’t realize how walkable this little pocket of Ixia actually is – there’s a solid taverna called Nissos about three blocks down that locals frequent, and honestly some of the best grilled octopus I had on the island.
The hotel itself has this clean, modern aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard to be “authentically Greek” with fake columns and whatnot. Instead, they’ve gone with natural materials and this really nice color palette that actually complements the Aegean light streaming through everything. I stayed in one of their sea-view rooms (worth the upgrade, especially for sunset drinks on the balcony), and the bed was legitimately comfortable – like, I actually got good sleep, which doesn’t always happen when you’re traveling. The bathroom had this rainfall shower that felt properly luxurious without being over the top.
What really sets this place apart though is the vibe. Since it’s adults-only, there’s this relaxed energy where people are actually reading books by the pool instead of chasing kids around. The pool area gets great morning sun but has shade options for those brutal afternoon hours in July and August. I noticed they keep the music at a level where you can actually have conversations, which seems obvious but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. The breakfast spread was solid too – not just the usual continental stuff, but they had some local specialties and really good coffee. Actually, the woman who runs the breakfast service (I think her name was Maria?) knows everything about Rhodes and gave me some restaurant recommendations that were spot-on.
Check-in was smooth, parking was free and easy, and the whole experience felt like staying somewhere that genuinely cares about getting the details right. With a 9.6 rating, you might expect it to be stuffy or overpriced, but it’s really just a well-run place that happens to nail the fundamentals. If you’re looking for a Rhodes base that’s sophisticated without being pretentious, and you want to skip the family resort scene, this is definitely worth considering.

The beachfront location, proximity to Rhodes old town, the friendly staff and the beautiful junior suite was well worth the extra cost.
What could be improved: Everything was exactly as we’d hoped, and although Ialysos itself doesn’t leave a great first impression, we found some very good little restaurants nearby and enjoyed some excellent meals.Angela from New Zealand – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
Super comfy superking size bed. Very quiet at night.

Nice and cosy hotel, located near the sea with good sea view options, calm surrounding area, airport is near so no long drive for the flights. Breakfast is good with different options. Clean and green garden.
What could be improved: Even though hotel rooms are non smoking, however people do smoke in the balconies. So if you are a non-smoker you might enjoy sea view with a taste of the cigarette smell. Hopefully hotel will put more signs that it is forbidden to smoke or give fines to smokers as it really unpleasant if in the next balcony someone is smoking, you can feel the smell in your room as well.Ian from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (10/10)

Checked out yesterday, hotel was amazing, one of the best I’ve stayed in, the facilities were great, well maintained and very modern. Lovely and peaceful, adults only, poolside area and access to a very private beach. The hotel bar and restaurant were very good, the food was great at breakfast and on the menu for lunch/dinner, prices very reasonable and ate in the hotel lots. The staff are what sets this hotel apart from others, all staff and the manager/owner couldn’t do enough, very welcoming and were always on hand should you need anything and offered advice. Also very accommodating. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return in the future.

Our stay in this room was truly a pleasure. The space was generously sized, featuring a comfortable bed and a balcony offering a stunning view of the beachfront. Everything was impeccably clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall comfort. The staff and management were exceptionally warm and courteous, greeting us with a friendly welcome and providing a delicious breakfast along with helpful local tips. We’re grateful for the wonderful experience and definitely plan to return. Highly recommended!

HAD A FANTASTIC 2 WEEK HOLIDAY AT THE 4 STAR HOTEL.
WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND IT ESPECIALLY IF YOU PREFER AN ADULT ONLY ENVIRONMENT.
FOOD WAS GOOD BUT THERE ARE QUITE A FEW RESTURANTS ON THE DOOR STEP TO TRY OUT, SOME WITH BEACH / SEA VIEWS.
A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO THE OWNER FOR HIS AND TEAMS HARD WORK.
