You know what struck me first about Island Hills? It’s tucked away on Logothetiou Street in Rhodes Town, which honestly most tourists walk right past without realizing there’s this gem hiding there. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute stroll from the medieval Old Town walls, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling back at 2 AM.

The place has this sort of understated elegance thing going on – it’s a proper 4-star property, but without all the marble lobby nonsense that screams “tourist trap.” What really impressed me was how the staff actually remembered my name after the first day (and I’m terrible with names myself, so I notice when people make the effort). The rooms are spacious by Greek island standards – I could actually open my suitcase without having to climb over it to get to the bathroom. Air conditioning works like a dream, which you’ll definitely appreciate during those sweltering July afternoons when the temperature hits 35°C and the whole island feels like it’s melting.

Here’s something you won’t find in the glossy brochures: the hotel sits on a slight hill (hence the name, obviously), which means you get these unexpected glimpses of the Aegean between the buildings from the upper floors. It’s not a full sea view or anything dramatic, but there’s something nice about catching that flash of blue when you’re getting ready in the morning. The neighborhood itself is where actual Rhodians live – there’s a little bakery around the corner where an elderly Greek woman sells the best tiropita I’ve had outside of Athens, and a small supermarket that stays open until midnight (super handy for grabbing water bottles and snacks). Parking can be a bit tricky on the narrow streets, but the hotel staff will sort you out if you’re renting a car – they know all the spots locals use.

What really sets Island Hills apart is that 9.6 rating, and honestly, after staying there I get it. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the island, but everything just works the way it should. The WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, the shower has proper water pressure, and the breakfast – well, it’s not just the usual sad continental spread. They do this amazing local honey with fresh yogurt that’s probably made somewhere nearby, and the coffee is strong enough to wake the dead (which you’ll need if you’re planning to explore both Rhodes Town and hit the beach in the same day). The whole place feels like someone put actual thought into what travelers need, rather than just checking boxes on some corporate hospitality list.

  The pictures didn’t lie! The view is even more stunning in real life. We stayed at the Sunset and upon entering the apartment, you could see the beautiful view. The property is spacious and very clean. From the bedroom, with the door open, you can enjoy the outside scenes. The balcony was very big and offers enough space to relax outside.
  
  The kitchen had many appliances you can make use of, such as a grill machine and a bread toaster.
  
  Andreas, the property manager, was very kind and was readily available for any questions. We also met the owner of the property, a kind lady as well!
  
  The location is good as well. The property is near the beach and you can also walk to the city center (30 mins walk). Within a 5-minute walk from the property there’s a bakery, a restaurant, a supermarket, and more. Ideal location if you’re going for a relaxing holiday.
  
  Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. Because of the beauty of the view, we didn’t feel like we had to leave the house everyday.

  I’ll admit — before arriving, I had a few doubts. “Too remote?” “Too quiet?” “Will the garden entrance feel sketchy?” Nope. None of them were valid. This place is a whole vibe. The view from the garden? Chef’s kiss. Inside? Everything’s curated to perfection — Nespresso, ironing board, all the essentials and the extras. It’s one of those rare spots where you actually want to stay in. If I ever return to the island, no question — I’m booking this place again.

  Strong recommendation for accommodation near Rhodes: excellent location, great amenities, and Andreas' (the host) hospitality.
  
  We traveled with four people. The apartment was well-equipped, Andreas was very helpful and responded quickly when contacted. The location was excellent, close to a bakery where it was easy to get bread and other items for breakfast. There was private parking for the car, and luggage storage was available.
  
  Each room had its own air conditioning unit.
  
  The apartment also included a lovely welcome gift.

  Very clean and spacious apartment. Lovely view. Owner was very welcoming. Andreas the Property Manager was very helpful and answered any questions asked very promptly. Easy to get to Rhodes Town and beach within walking distance although you have to walk back up the hill.

  The place was gorgeous, comfortable, spacious and very clean. There was all we expected and more! The owners were very kind and warm, even giving us a gift basket with local treats. They were accommodating and were quick to reply to any questions. There is parking at the place, the view is breathtaking, there is dishwasher and all the facilities anyone would need. If we ever come back, we'll definitely be back to Island Hills. Thank you for making our stay in the island even better. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

  Seaview is nice
  Be aware that you will also face a busy road which is however quite far away. Still you can hear some cars (not if you close the windows)
