Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Island City Boutique Hotel? It’s actually tucked right into the heart of Rhodes Old Town on 25is Martiou street, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy at all. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Palace of the Grand Masters and all those medieval stone streets, but the hotel itself has this calm, almost residential vibe that I wasn’t expecting. The building feels authentic – not like someone tried to fake old-world charm, but genuinely part of the neighborhood’s fabric. When I checked in, the staff knew exactly which restaurants to avoid (the obvious tourist traps) and which tavernas the locals actually eat at. That kind of insider knowledge is worth its weight in gold when you’re exploring Rhodes.
The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully boutique – they’ve got character without being fussy about it. My room had these lovely traditional tiles that probably tell a story if you know how to read them, and honestly, the bed was exactly what you want after a day of wandering those cobblestone streets (your feet will thank you). The air conditioning actually works properly, which isn’t always a given in older buildings, and the bathroom had that perfect water pressure that makes you want to take longer showers than you should. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – even though you’re in the middle of everything, the thick walls keep out most of the street noise. Well, except during August when the whole town basically turns into one big party, but that’s Rhodes for you.
Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though – the location gives you options. You can walk to Mandraki Harbor in about ten minutes if you want to catch a boat to Symi or just watch the sunset by the windmills. Or you can head the other direction toward the newer part of town where the locals actually shop and eat. The hotel sits right at that sweet spot where you’re not trapped in the tourist bubble, but you’re not missing out on the medieval magic either. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (like everywhere in the Old Town), but they’ll sort you out with directions to the closest spots. I stayed there in late September and it felt perfect – still warm enough for the beaches, but not so crowded that you’re fighting for space everywhere you go. For a 4-star place with an 8.5 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Nice, clean, very spacious room. Big bathroom and big balcony with a view to sea and to the old town
Yesimmukan from Turkey – 18 April 2025 (8/10)
Location was good, room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Breakfasts were superb. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
What could be improved: Bathroom needs renovation. There was no power inlet in the bathroom. The worst part was the tavern right across our room which plays live music until 01:00 in the morning which kept us awake. I wish we were not given a room looking to the street side.Jeffrey from United States – 11 April 2025 (9/10)
Very comfortable, great view of the Marina! Staff was very friendly and helpful!
What could be improved: Was not a full kitchen, but we ate out mostlyLeslaw from United States – 6 April 2025 (9/10)
Great location, exceptional staff at reception. Comfortabke bed but take earplugs (we did) because the live music goes on across thw street until quite late!

What could be improved: late replies to the messages and emails. Even no reply.Craig from United Kingdom – 8 September 2024 (9/10)
Nice bar downstairs – breakfast was a walk away but we stopped half way at a coffee bar.
What could be improved: Nothing we didn't like. The area is a bit seedy – lots of strip bars.
