Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Iriada House? The location is absolutely perfect, but not in that generic “convenient location” way everyone throws around. I mean, you’re literally on Xenofontos Street, which puts you right in the heart of Rhodes Old Town without being stuck in the tourist chaos. When I walked out the front door, I was maybe two minutes from the Palace of the Grand Master, but honestly, the street itself felt refreshingly quiet compared to the main drags where cruise ship crowds tend to swarm.

The thing about staying here is that you really feel like you’re living in medieval Rhodes rather than just visiting it. The building has this authentic Greek island character – you can tell it’s been thoughtfully restored rather than just slapped together for tourists. What really impressed me was how they managed to blend modern comfort with that old-world charm without making it feel forced or theme-park-ish. The rooms are genuinely comfortable (and thank god for good air conditioning in summer), but you’re still surrounded by those thick stone walls that have been there for centuries. Actually, the whole experience feels more like staying in a well-appointed local home than a typical hotel, which explains that crazy 9.8 rating they’ve got.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I went: parking can be tricky in the Old Town, but the staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real advice, not just vague directions. Also, if you’re planning to explore the medieval streets early in the morning or late in the evening – which I totally recommend – you’re in the perfect spot to do it without the daytime crowds. The narrow cobblestone alleys around Xenofontos are magical when they’re not packed with tour groups, and honestly, stepping out of Iriada House at sunrise to wander the fortifications with a coffee in hand was probably my favorite part of the whole Rhodes experience. The place isn’t huge or flashy, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want – somewhere that feels authentic and personal rather than like another cookie-cutter resort. Plus, the staff clearly takes pride in what they’re doing, which makes all the difference when you’re trying to navigate a new place and want recommendations that actually make sense.

  The terrace is great for sunbathing, location is central and rooms comfortable. The hosts were very attentive, the accommodation is beautiful and we were transported from the gate to the accommodation by buggy. I could not recommend this accommodation more, you will not regret it. Even the smallest things were considered for our trip, fruit, water, i asked if breakfast items could be obtained and they did. There are plenty of toiletries plus more, such as nail varnish, remover and bite cream. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into it. We were offered a cleaning service through our stay and the cleaning was done to a high standard. This place is a real gem and a perfect base for exploring rhodes in a quiet backstreet.

  This was an absolute gem of a place to stay and Katerina is the hostest with the mostest. She met us at the gate when we arrived by taxi from the airport which was so appreciated.

  Stavros' bar is a 2 minute walk and does toasted sandwiches for lunch for less than 5 euro.

  "Iriada" was an excellent three bedroom house in the old town of Rhodes. Spacious, clean, cosy, pleasant, with lots of amenities and the most helpfull and smiley host… Katerina was always available, when we needed something, assisting us the best way she could.
  We would definitely return to Iriada house, when again in Rhodes.

  Lovely layout. Clean, comfy beds. Outside and inside shower. Location in old town was brilliant. Down little side street but class to historic buildings. Owner was wonderful and caring. Extremely helpful with any issues or questions. Left little gifts which surprised and enhanced stay.

  Antonis met us quite late at night and drove us by golf buggy to our accomodation where we were met with the keys and shown the facilities. The outside area had been updated and the whole place was really nicely decorated. The facilities were good, with everything you would need in the bathroom, even spare cotton buds and razors. A thoughtful gift and bottle of wine made us feel very welcome.
  
  What could be improved: I would have liked more items in the kitchen such as bowls as we are cereal for breakfast out of cups and there were not enough knives for all four guests at dinner time.
