You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Ily’s House on that narrow road in Pastida – honestly, the name made it sound like someone’s spare bedroom situation. But this place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. It’s tucked away on Επαρχιακή Οδός Παστίδας, which sounds intimidating but is actually just the main provincial road that locals use to avoid the tourist traffic heading to Rhodes Town. The moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical Greek island accommodation – there’s this immediate sense that someone actually lives here and cares about every detail, from the way the morning light hits the common areas to how they’ve arranged the furniture so you can actually relax instead of just existing in the space.

What really gets me about Ily’s House is how it manages to feel both completely Greek and refreshingly modern without trying too hard at either. The owners – and I mean this in the best way – seem to have figured out that travelers want authentic experiences but also want their shower to work properly and their Wi-Fi to not cut out every five minutes. I spent a good chunk of my mornings on their terrace with coffee, watching the locals head to work while the tourist buses hadn’t even started their routes yet. Pastida itself is this perfect little village that most people drive through without stopping, which honestly works in your favor because you get to experience actual Greek village life without the crowds. The parking situation is surprisingly stress-free (thank god, because navigating rental cars on these roads can be… well, let’s just say it builds character), and the check-in process was refreshingly human – no corporate script, just genuine conversation about the area and recommendations that actually made sense.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: it’s got that rare combination of being peaceful enough that you can hear the olive trees rustling at night, but you’re not completely isolated if you want to grab dinner or explore. The 9.6 rating isn’t inflated tourist enthusiasm – it’s because places like this are genuinely hard to find. You’re close enough to the coast that a quick drive gets you to some lesser-known beaches (the locals will point you toward the good ones), but far enough inland that you escape that overwhelming sunscreen-and-fried-food atmosphere that can get exhausting after a few days. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love a good beach resort moment, but sometimes you want to wake up to the sound of actual life happening instead of pool maintenance and tour group announcements. If you’re the type of traveler who appreciates when someone has put real thought into creating a space – not just decorated it, but actually considered how people move through it and what they need – you’ll understand why this place feels special.

  Our stay at the apartment was one of the best we've ever rented through Booking!
  Here you'll find everything you need and even more! Great location (we rented a car, and there’s a spacious parking spot), quiet neighborhood, close to beaches by car, shops, coffee places, and cafes. The house is very cozy, clean, and equipped with everything necessary; it's clear that the owner cares about the guests' comfort! There’s also a beautiful and well-maintained area around the house. The owners were very helpful, always responded quickly, and communication was excellent! If you're planning an unforgettable vacation in Rhodes, CHOOSE THIS PLACE!

  Very new, clean and fully equipped apartment in a quiet area about 10min walking distance to the city. Ily was a wonderful host, answered all our questions and fulfilled all all our needs. We would definitely come back on the summer to use the garden area because it’s just wonderful.

  Dies war mein 5. Urlaub auf Rhodos und die bisher beste Unterkunft. Super nette Eigentümer,die direkt nebenan wohnen und jederzeit für alle Fragen und Wünsche zu Verfügung stehen. Ein sehr schöner Garten und ein sehr bequemes Bett. Sauberes Badezimmer mit toller Dusche. Auto ist unbedingt erforderlich, da es etwas abseits liegt.

  Έχω μείνει σε 206 καταλύματα τα τελευταία 3χρονια ταξιδεύοντας.Το σπίτι αυτό ξεχώρισε στην ❤️ μου μετην ομορφιά του, τον μαγικό κήπο, την τοποθεσία του, έκανε την Ρόδο ομορφότερη…Κ κάτι ακόμα,οι άνθρωποι που το έχουν είναι τόσο ευγενικοί κ φιλόξενοι.Μην πάτε αλλού,εδώ παράδεισος!

  Ein ganz tolles Ferienhaus. Sauber, modern und gepflegt. Mit aller Ausstattung die man braucht. Die Lage ist super, sehr ruhig in einem kleineren Ort, in dem man dennoch alles findet. Dadurch dass es etwas abseits ist, ist es sehr ruhig. Der Garten lädt zum frühstücken ein. Wie auf den Fotos.

  Das kleine Ferienhäuschen ist sehr gut ausgestattet und hat einen herrlichen Garten. Die Gastgeber sind zuvorkommend, unkompliziert, sehr freundlich und überhaupt nicht aufdringlich Trotz direkter Nachbarschaft genießt man absolute Privatsphäre. Der kleine Ort Pastida bietet viele Tavernen und Geschäfte. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge mit dem Mietwagen sowohl an die West- als auch an die Ostküste.
  
  What could be improved: In der Küche waren Ameisen unterwegs, daher konnte man Lebensmittel sicher nur im Kühlschrank aufbewahren – aber der war riesig und top !

  What could be improved: L'abitazione è situata lontana dai vari centri ed è in aperta campagna, troverete insetti di ogni specie. Occorre essere automuniti per spostarsi in quanto distante dal primo centro con negozi di prima necessità. Inoltre la casa è affiancata a quelli che credo siano i genitori dei proprietari o i proprietari stessi. Se ci avessero informato prima del codice e di come reperire le chiavi sarebbe stato preferibile.
