You know what caught me off guard about Iliana Apartment? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet stretch of Rodou Lindou street in Afantou, and I mean quiet in the best way possible. When I first pulled up (parking was surprisingly easy, by the way), I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 4-star place in what’s honestly a pretty low-key part of Rhodes. But stepping inside, it hit me immediately – this place just feels right.

The thing about Afantou is that most tourists barrel right past it heading to Lindos or Rhodes Town, which is honestly their loss. Iliana sits perfectly positioned where you can actually hear the waves from some of the rooms – not that crashing tourist-beach noise, but the real gentle Mediterranean rhythm that makes you forget to check your phone for hours. The apartments themselves have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake; someone clearly thought about how people actually move through spaces. I’m talking proper counter space in the kitchenette, shower pressure that doesn’t make you want to cry, and – this is going to sound weird – but the WiFi actually works consistently, even during those evening hours when everyone’s streaming Netflix.

What really sells me on this place, though, is how it sits in the neighborhood. Walk five minutes toward the coast and you’ll hit Afantou Beach, which stays relatively uncrowded even in July (locals tend to go early morning or after 6 PM, just saying). The other direction takes you past this little bakery that opens ridiculously early – I mean, the smell of fresh bread drifting through the streets at 6 AM is not the worst way to wake up. And here’s something you won’t read in the guidebooks: there’s this family-run taverna about ten minutes on foot where they do this lamb dish that… well, let’s just say I ended up there three nights running. The 9.5 rating starts making sense when you realize you’re staying somewhere that connects you to actual Greek life, not the sanitized resort version. Sure, it’s not beachfront glamorous, but if you want to feel like you’re living in Rhodes rather than just visiting it – and still have a legitimately comfortable place to crash with air conditioning that works and sheets that smell like actual sunshine – then honestly, Iliana nails it.

  We loved everything, the apartment is exactly how it was described and totally equipped with everything you could think of, super clean and in our 12 days stay they came to clean and change towel and sheet after a few days. Super recommended, the pool it's obviously a plus and the staff really welcoming and friendly. They even had sun umbrella for free to bring to the beach.

  Very nice, comfortable, clean with all amenities.

  We rented the accommodation as a spare of the moment expecting it to be good but turned out to be excellent! Highly recommend it.

  Large apartment, 2 air conditioners, refrigerator, washing machine, swimming pool, parking space. Quiet street, close to the center and restaurants. Clean – we stayed for 16 days and they cleaned and changed towels every Monday. A full bowl of fruit and pastries upon arrival, gifts upon departure.
  If we visit Rhodes again, we will definitely come back here.
  
  What could be improved: Everything was great, only the neighbor's dogs were loud at night (but that's not the owner's fault) and maybe some extra dishes (pan, cups).

  I loved Kalithea, Anthony Quinn Bay and the beautiful village in Lindos. I loved the great hospitality shown by the apartment owner and his wife. The apartment had everything I needed to make my stay very enjoyable. IMy first time trying Mousakka was a very delicious experience. I loved the location only 10 minutes walking distance to the town centre and about 20 minutes away from the local beach. It was lovely to meet the owner of Aqua World in Faliraki who loves cats as much as me and he only charged 5 euros to enter his aquarium. I enjoyed the panoramic skyline views of Rhodes at a rooftop terrace of a restaurant.
  
  What could be improved: The noise of dogs barking during the night. Some stray dogs walking around made me feel nervous. I didn't like that there was hardly any walking space for pedestrians. Also the buses didn't run frequently and the last bus was scheduled for 8.00 pm and we didn't realise this and had to walk nearly an hour on narrow very pebbly paths which were very poorly lit.

  Everything!
  We were in love with apartment, location and people.
  The house was really beautiful, renovated, clean and had everything for your comfortable stay. We had great breakfasts and dining on the balcony.
  It has strategic position to the main beaches and attractions. And if you are tired from the sea you can relax at the pool side of the property that has a stunning view on the Rhodes landscape.
  The best of course was to move with car but there is also a bus connection and a taxi. The village itself is very calm and secure. For dining I would definitely recommend the souvlaki place Xatzis on the main square – it was just unbelievably tasty! Then try as well the taverna Katholiki. Highly rated. For the local pastry you can stop at Kantis bakery and Pame paketo, try ice cappuccino:) For grilled/fried fish and seafood a "must" Dodecanisos Fish in the next nice village Archangelos. For grocery we used to go to Panagiotas (like Metro cash&carry), good prices and great variety of goods.
  Afantou sea side is best the for morning jogging and baths, very relaxing. Don't miss to visit Holy Monastery of Virgin Mary Tsambika and enjoy every day of stay 🙂
