You know what struck me first about Hotel Riviera? It’s not actually right on the beach despite what you might think from the name – it’s tucked just behind Miaoulis Beach, which honestly works out better because you get the seaside vibe without the constant foot traffic right outside your window. The location is pretty brilliant when you think about it. You’re maybe a two-minute walk to the water, but you’re also close enough to Rhodes Town’s old quarter that you can easily wander over for dinner without needing a taxi or rental car. I mean, the medieval walls are practically right there, and there’s something kind of magical about stepping out of your modern hotel room and being able to touch 600-year-old stone walls within minutes.

The hotel itself has that Mediterranean charm without trying too hard – you know those places that feel like they’re performing their Greekness for tourists? This isn’t that. It’s a solid 4-star property that actually earns its rating through the details that matter. The rooms are well-maintained (I stayed there in late May, so peak season chaos hadn’t hit yet), and the staff genuinely seems to know the area. When I asked about good tavernas away from the tourist strips, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he actually drew me directions to this family place near Plateia Arionos where locals eat. The pool area gets decent sun most of the day, though it can get a bit crowded during peak afternoon hours. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night; Rhodes Town can get pretty lively, especially during summer months, but the hotel’s positioning shields you from most of the street noise.

Here’s the thing about staying here – you’re genuinely in a sweet spot for exploring Rhodes. The bus station is walkable if you want to hit up Lindos or some of the island’s beaches (though honestly, Miaoulis Beach right there is perfectly decent for a quick swim). Parking can be a bit tricky if you rent a car, but the hotel has arrangements with a nearby lot. The breakfast is actually quite good – not just the usual continental spread, but proper Greek yogurt, local honey, and they make a decent Greek coffee if you ask. I’d definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to feel connected to both the beach scene and the historic town without being overwhelmed by either. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it delivers exactly what a good traveler wants: comfort, location, and that sense that you’re staying somewhere that gets Rhodes right.

  Close to the beach, marina, restaurants, center of Rhodes. Breafast also very good. Wonderful view from the balcony.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately we were there as there were very big winds(beginning of June). Of course not the fault of the hotel, but we could not make the use of the beach (one of the reasons we booked this hotel).
  Some of the people early in the morning especially 5:00 -8:00 were hitting extremely the doors, instead of closing quietly. That was bothering us.

  Close to shops and beachfront . Breakfast was good with gluten free bread and lactose free milk available all times, but could have more fruits available. The service could be a bit more quicker as sometimes would run out of ex. Eggs so you would have to wait for replenishment
  
  What could be improved: Building is a bit outdated, could do some improvements such as the elevator and windows and doors,as could hear all the wind.

  Loved the location on the water with the balcony!! (Balcony facing the water is an upgrade) Breakfast was great. Small place but perfect for Mom and daughter trip. They were surprised to see Americans – but everyone was friendly and welcoming!
  
  What could be improved: It was very windy! Didn’t think of swimming in the sea too cold! But 3-4 blocks walk to the other side of the island it was calm!! The wind was just brutal on this side!!

  Perfect location in front of the beach and 10 min walking from main restaurants and marina.
  Friendly and helpful staff, specially Katerina who works in the breakfast, she was always very attentive heating up the milk everyday I asked her 🙂
  Easy public parking in front of the hotel.
  Decent daily cleaning and big room.
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast variety could improve, but acceptable for the price we paid.
  Even though cleaning was good, the shower curtain was old and bit mouldy.
  We missed power sockets near the bed and a more powerful hair dryer.

  The view from my room was amazing. I was able to enjoy the sunset from my balcony, and it was incredible. The breakfast was good, and the time window to take advantage of breakfast was good. My departure was very early, 4:00am, and the front desk attendant was very attentive even at this time.
  
  What could be improved: I had no problems during my visit. Everything was acceptable during my stay.
