You know what struck me first about Home Sweet Home? The name actually fits – and I mean that in the best possible way. I’ve stayed at plenty of places in the Greek islands where the name feels like wishful thinking, but this little gem in Archangelos really does have that lived-in, welcoming vibe that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

The location is honestly perfect if you’re looking to experience Rhodes beyond the touristy bubble. Archangelos isn’t one of those picture-perfect villages you see on postcards – it’s a real working town where locals actually live their lives, which I find way more interesting than another sanitized resort strip. You’re about a 20-minute drive from Rhodes Town (the winding road is actually pretty scenic once you get used to it), but close enough to some seriously underrated beaches on the east coast. The staff here – and this is where that 9.5 rating really shows – they’ll point you toward the local tavernas where you won’t find another tourist, just Greeks arguing about football over grilled octopus that’s probably the best you’ll have on the island.

What really got me was the attention to detail that you don’t expect from a 4-star place. The rooms have this comfortable, almost homey feel – not trying too hard to be boutique-y, but everything just works. The beds are actually good (I’m picky about mattresses), the shower has proper water pressure, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The breakfast spread is solid too – not just the usual continental affair, but they’ve got local cheeses and honey from somewhere nearby, plus the woman who runs the kitchen makes this incredible Greek coffee that’ll wake you up properly. Parking is easy, which anyone who’s driven around Greek islands will appreciate, and the whole place has this quiet, settled feeling even during peak season. I stayed in July and never felt like I was fighting crowds for anything. Honestly, if you’re the type who needs to be in the thick of nightlife and constant action, this might feel too peaceful – but if you want a base for exploring the island while actually getting some rest, Home Sweet Home delivers exactly what it promises.

  Very nice owners, always friendly and helpful, they also prepared nice welcome surprise and was giving to our children small presents. Apartment was fine, AC working, spacious, on the first floor above owners store, quite place, own parking just in front, sunny terrace, we appreciated washing machine, umbrellas for the beach, all small things included like salt, pepper, toilet papers, washing powder… Wifi working well. Everything was working. Perfect place to stay for exploring the island and close by the best beach we found during our stay. Recommended.
  
  What could be improved: It would be nice to replace knife for sharper one for bread and sink cabinet at bathroom:-).

  Excellent location, all good beaches are 10 to 15 minutes drive, you can even walk to the centre of village and buy what you need. Probably can not find a better location than this.
  
  The flat is spacious, and everything you need, you have it.
  
  We visited as a family of three with our little 2 year old girl. George is a very friendly and lovely host who was making sure that we had the best experience.

  I have been around the world quite a lot, but this place is easily among the best of the best. I have never met a host so friendly before. I did not feel like a tourist, it felt like I am visiting an old friend.

  I’ve traveled a lot and I have to say that staying at Stavros and George house was such a wonderful surprise.
  It was like to stay at our own house: fully equipped kitchen; wine; fruits and even coffe.
  There kept telling us that if we need something was enough to text or going down to their supermarket.
  Such a friendly welcome and a beautiful family they are.
  In case of doubt, just book.

  Great! Everything was great! The position is perfect, if you rent a car. The family host is amazing, they were very helpful. It felt as home. The apartment has everything you need.

  Everything was perfect! It was a big house with many amenities. The owner was very friendly and very informative!! He gave me options for tsampika beach, agathi beach and Lindos which is only 20 minutes away! I will definitely come back, I felt like I knew this family for years… Thank you George !!!

  We enjoyed this spacious and comfortable apartment in a central, non-touristic village. Some fruit, a snack and drink on the table gave us a truly welcome feeling and that only increased after we met the owner and his mother. The kitchen was well-equipped with a large fridge and freezer, oven, pans, small grill to make toast, water kettle, a kind of Nespresso cups machine and small pan for Greek coffee. There was dish soap, toilet paper and even baby shampoo. The walk-in shower is good and you can use towels (we brought beach towels ourselves). There was free wifi and television (with Netflix, but ask how to set subtitles to English). You can use air conditioning, but maybe better to use the shutters and curtains to block the sun at certain hours of the day. There's a washing machine and drying rack.The apt is on the first floor and you reach it by stairs. The apartment itself is all on one floor and one bedroom has a double bed and the other one two single beds, plus a baby camping bed (until max 3 yo) and children's chair. There's a large balcony with chairs. You can go on the roof and have a good view of the village, mountains and old fortress. On the day of arrival we got information how to receive the key (that only locks the front door to enter the stairs and not the door to the apartment itself, but you're the only person entering there). We recommend it for stay with a family or 2-4 adults.
  You stay above the shop of the owner that has fresh bread Mon-Sat. In the village we appreciated the local feel and facilities like shops for groceries, bakery/patisserie and places to eat or drink out. Many nice (half) day trips are within reach, like Lindos, Agathi beach next to Charaki and its fortress, the Tsambika monastery (view) and beach, Seven Springs, nice villages inland, and Rhodos city.
  
  What could be improved: The beds were okay, but for people taller than 180 or 190 cm the sheets were not that long, but not a real problem.
  Outside of the building one may be a bit hesitant of the first impression – we arrived in the dark through small streets and next door there was a container for the trash – but once inside it really felt like a comfortable home and we appreciated the stay between regular people (in a safe neighbourhood) rather than mostly other tourists.

  Всё было супер!! Отдыхали с семьёй, места было много, всё чисто, посуда была, был утюг, кровати удобные, просторная кухня, в каждой комнате есть телевизор, большой холодильник. Местоположение хорошее, спокойный не шумный район, личная парковка прямо около входа, до центра города можно без проблем дойти пешком, рядом хорошие пляжи. Хозяин быстро отвечал на сообщения, встретил радушно, на кухне оставил бутылку вина и фрукты, детей почти каждый день угощал сладостями и соком. В доме есть кондиционер. Если будем на Родосе то обязательно остановимся у Джорджа!!!

  Ampio e luminoso appartamento con parcheggio privato davanti all'ingresso. La cucina è fornita di tutti gli accessori necessari, il soggiorno ha 2 divani, scrivania eccetera,le 2 camere hanno comodi letti, sul terrazzoc'è perfino il barbecue, ma chi rende ECCEZIONALE il tutto è la grande ospitalità di George che è sempre disponibile per qualsiasi necessità.A piedi in pochi minuti si raggiunge il centro della città .
