Okay, so I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes, but Hermes’ Getaway in Plimmiri honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you’re driving down to the southern tip of the island, you sort of expect things to get a bit rough around the edges, you know? But this place is tucked away in this little coastal village that feels like it hasn’t been completely overrun by tourism yet. The moment I pulled up (parking was actually easy, which is saying something for Greek coastal spots), I could hear the waves from the nearby beach mixing with the sound of cicadas in the olive trees. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling or tourist trap nonsense, just genuine hospitality from people who clearly know the area inside and out.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between comfort and authenticity. The rooms have this modern Mediterranean thing going on without feeling sterile or hotel-chain generic. I mean, you’ve got proper air conditioning that actually works (crucial in summer), but also these little touches like locally-made ceramics and linens that smell like they’ve been dried in the island breeze. The view from my balcony looked out over these rolling hills dotted with ancient stone walls – honestly, it’s the kind of scenery that makes you want to just sit there with your morning coffee and forget about your itinerary entirely. And speaking of coffee, they source their beans from a roaster in Rhodes Town, which sounds small but actually makes a huge difference when you’re starting your day.

Here’s the thing though – Plimmiri isn’t exactly party central, and that’s precisely why this place works so well. You’re about twenty minutes from Lindos if you want the crowds and Instagram spots, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore some of the island’s hidden gems that most tourists never see. The staff actually gave me directions to this little taverna down by the fishing boats where the locals eat (no English menu, but incredible fresh fish), and they knew exactly which beaches would be less crowded depending on the wind direction. The whole experience felt less like staying at a hotel and more like crashing at a friend’s place – if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a knack for hospitality. I’ve been back twice now, and honestly, it’s become my go-to base for exploring this part of Rhodes. Just don’t tell everyone about it, okay?

  The location of the house in a quiet area close to the nature and the space around the house is very well arranged. It is really close to the beach and a wonderful view on a hill nearby. We really enjoyed satying here 🙂

  A great location,very close to the beach – walking distance and not far from Prasonisis in case you’d like to practice windsurfing, however a car is mandatory. Many good restaurants nearby. A lot of space outside the building, very good equipment inside even first-aid kit, air conditioning in each room, sun beds outside and a tenis table. The owner is very friendly and helps you in everything. We highly recommend this accomodation. Special attraction – there are many deers the in nearby forest.
