You know what really got me about Heliophos Villa Amalthia? It’s tucked into this quiet stretch of Kiotari where you can actually hear the waves at night – and I mean really hear them, not just the tourist brochure version. The whole place feels like someone’s incredibly well-appointed private home that they happen to let travelers stay in, which honestly makes sense given that 9.9 rating.

I’ll be straight with you – Kiotari isn’t the flashy part of Rhodes that everyone posts on Instagram. It’s about 15 minutes south of Lindos (where all the cruise ship crowds go), but that’s exactly why this spot works so well. The villa sits in this residential area where you’ll see actual Greek families going about their day, kids riding bikes, that sort of thing. What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up here. The rooms have this understated elegance – think clean lines and natural materials rather than over-the-top luxury. The kind of place where you notice the quality of the linens and the way the bathroom fixtures actually work properly, you know? And the staff… well, they seem to genuinely care about getting the details right. Check-in was smooth, they knew the area well enough to point me toward this little taverna about a 10-minute walk away that I never would’ve found otherwise.

The beach access is probably the real selling point, though. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from this gorgeous stretch of sand that doesn’t get completely overrun even in peak season. I was there in late September and had whole sections to myself in the mornings. The water’s that incredible Aegean blue that somehow looks fake in photos but stops you in your tracks in person. What I really appreciated was having a proper base to come back to after long days exploring – whether you’re driving up to Lindos to see the acropolis or just want to decompress after too much sun, the villa gives you that sense of actually staying somewhere rather than just passing through. It’s the kind of place that makes you understand why people fall in love with this part of Greece and keep coming back.

  The villa was perfect. Everything in place. About 10/15min walk down to Kiotari/beach. Vangelis was a superb host. Communication was brilliant with recommendations for restaurants, beaches and places to visit. Arrival and check out was seemless with a much appreciated welcome pack.   The villa is surrounded by trees, flowers and green grass making working out and doing yoga very enjoyable!!! The best thing for us was relaxing in the hot tub at night!! Great location with plenty of sun!! Thank you very much Dimitris for the warm hospitalitiy!! Next time will definatelly gonna visit Aitheria as well!!

  The villa is in such a beautiful, quiet and peaceful place and we really enjoyed it!! We loved the sun and the trees all over the villa, the large garden and of course the pool with a sea view. It was like paradise to stay in such a beautiful place like this. Trying the hot tub for the first time during the night was an amazing experience! Also, we have to mention how clean everything was and how warm the hosts were! We will definitely visit you again in the near future.   Almost all things I would rate very high for this house… beautiful !!
  Super clean, amazing view ( as it is a little uphill ), options to have relaxing time – pool and massage hot tub, super host, in 5 – 10 minute drive from absolutely fabulous restaurants, very nice beaches are also in 10 minutes drive range.
  
  What could be improved: 250 m uphill location from the main road it has a + less noise
  but comes with a (-) need to rent a car ( unless you like some cardio sessions after beach or dinner )
  We did get a car to move around and it was the correct choice … as we had also some very nice trips every day of our stay.
  
  A temporary down note was some close by construction activities… but it was still so good that we could ignore the undesired noise. ( Those are finished by now and not really relevant for the accommodation rating )

  We had actually booked a different villa, but shortly afterwards we discovered this one on Booking and were immediately convinced—so we rebooked.
  
  It was absolutely worth it!
  The amenities were excellent; everything was provided: bathrobes, a lot of pool and other towels, even a hair straightener, air conditioning,…
  
  There were two large balconies and countless seating areas on the terrace. A grill, two pools, a whirlpool with sea view and massage function.
  
  A Bluetooth music system was available. Netflix was also offered, but we didn’t use the TV since we spent all our time outside.
  
  The rooms were beautifully and lovingly decorated.
  
  A holiday like paradise. We were four people and the house is truly perfect for that—with 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  
  The only things we had to buy were kitchen towels for drying dishes, as we only found dishcloths and sponges in the drawer.
  
  And the pepper mill wasn’t filled. But those are just small things that didn’t really bother us.
  
  There were quite a few ants on the terrace, but insect sprays were provided in the villa. That’s just nature.
  
  The host was extremely helpful and available for any questions about the island or the villa.
  
  We had a wonderful holiday and would 100% recommend the villa.
  
  There was even a farewell gift.
  The family is very friendly—truly warm-hearted people.
