Hotel Description

You know what hit me first about Heliareti Traditional House? The silence. I mean, you’re technically still on Rhodes, but Koskinou feels like this forgotten pocket where time sort of… slowed down. The house itself sits tucked away from the main tourist madness – honestly, I drove past it twice before spotting the small sign because it blends so naturally into the village architecture.

This isn’t your typical Greek island hotel experience, and I mean that in the best way. The owners have clearly put thought into preserving the authentic character without making you feel like you’re roughing it. The rooms have these gorgeous stone walls and traditional wooden shutters that actually keep the place cool during those brutal August afternoons (learned that the hard way at other places). What really got me was the courtyard – there’s this vine-covered pergola where you can have breakfast while listening to the church bells from Agios Nektarios just down the lane. The Wi-Fi works perfectly fine, by the way, which honestly surprised me given how tucked away everything feels.

Here’s the thing about staying in Koskinou versus the beach resorts – you’re about a ten-minute drive from Faliraki if you want that beach scene, but you get to come home to actual Greece. The village has maybe three tavernas, and locals still sit outside playing backgammon in the evenings. Maria (I think that was her name?) at the small kafeneio near the square makes this incredible Greek coffee, and she’ll chat with you about the village history if you’re interested. Parking’s never an issue here either – there’s always space along the narrow streets, unlike trying to find a spot in Rhodes Town. The 9.6 rating makes total sense when you consider that this place delivers exactly what it promises: an authentic experience without sacrificing comfort. Sure, it’s not beachfront, but honestly? After a day exploring the island, returning to Heliareti feels like coming home to a peaceful refuge rather than just another hotel room.

  Koskinou village is a small and sympatic place to visit. You will find colourful houses and great atmosphere there. Also nice restaurants!

  Alexandera is a great host and the communication with her was very easy and productive (she gave us some good tips).

  It has been renovated to an unbelievable high standard. The welcome was amazing with fruit, snacks and stocked fridge of assorted drinks. The host was also always on hand to assist with information etc.

  The villa was beautiful! The host was absolutely amazing and very accommodating. Everything about the place was perfect, and in a reasonably distanced area to everything (10 Minute Drive to Faliraki, 15 Minute Drive to Rhodes)
  
  What could be improved: Streets were a bit narrow around the property but I guess that’s Greece in general. Nothing bad about the villa though.

  הכל היה מושלם!!! לא להאמין איזה דירה מיוחדת, בתוך הכפר. אלכסנדרה, בעלת הנכס אישה מדהימה. המקום חדש מאוד ושמור מאוד,נקי ברמת מטורפת, מריח טוב כולל השמיכות ובכל הבית, הכל היה מדוייק, כל פינה מיוחדת. יחידת הורים סגורה עם מקלחת. בחלל השני, 3 מיטות זוגיות, ב2 גלריות עם מדרגות, נסגר בוילון, יש מקלחת נוספת לילדים. הרהיטים חדשים ומיוחדים, נעלי בית על כל מיטה, המיטות נוחות, בכניסה לדירה מרחב ישיבה נהדר ומשפחתי.
  הבית מאובזר בהכל!!! אמבטיות עם כל מה שצריך, מכונת כביסה, מדיח, מכונת קפה, מיקרוגל, תנור ועוד… אלכסנדרה פינקה אותנו בכל טוב! ריבות, דבש, ממתקים, פירות, שתייה, אלכוהול בקיצור מושלם. אין לי ספק שנחזור לשם. הכפר נמצא 8 קמ מפליראקי ו 7 קמ מרודוס. בכפר יש מסעדות וסופר קטן. כדאי להגיע עם רכב.

  אלכסנדה פשוט מדהימה! הייתה בשבילנו לכל אורך הטיול ועזרה לנו בכל מה שהיה צריך ! זמינה מאוד!!!המיקום מדהים והבית עוד יותר !! הכל נקי ומסודר

  We were two families staying in the property. It was very interesting to have an experience of staying in a traditional house with a big open space, renovated to fit in the modern way of life. Everything was perfect; the Hostess, the Property and its amenities, the welcome goods, the communication and the Village of Koskinou. I think we made the best selection for our stay! Alexandra is running the property in the best way at a reasonable price. Very well done and many many thanks!
