You know what struck me first about the Haraki Beach Mediterranean Retreat? It’s actually right there on the beach – and I mean literally right there, not one of those “beachfront” places where you need a shuttle to see water. The moment you walk out of the lobby, you’re practically stepping onto the sand at Haraki Beach, which honestly feels more like a local secret than a tourist trap. Most people racing around Rhodes miss this little corner entirely, but that’s exactly what makes it special.

The hotel itself has that relaxed Greek island vibe without trying too hard – think whitewashed walls and blue shutters, but not in an Instagram-perfect way. More like someone’s stylish aunt who has excellent taste but doesn’t stress about every detail. My room had this great little balcony where I could actually hear the waves (not just traffic, which is rare), and the whole place felt refreshingly quiet compared to the chaos in Rhodes Town. The staff genuinely seemed to care about what you were up to – they’d remember your name after day one and actually give useful recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the most obvious tourist spots. I mean, the woman at reception told me about this tiny taverna up the hill that I never would’ve found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my best meals.

What really won me over, though, was how the place just works for different kinds of travelers. You’ve got families with kids building sandcastles right outside, but also couples having quiet dinners on the terrace without feeling like they’re at a kiddie resort. The beach here isn’t huge – it’s more of an intimate bay situation – but the water’s incredibly clear and you can actually swim without dodging boats every five minutes. Parking was surprisingly easy (always a concern in Greece), and check-in was smooth even though I arrived during that awkward afternoon hour when half the staff was probably napping. Sure, it’s not the fanciest place on the island – you won’t find a spa or fancy cocktail program – but sometimes you just want a comfortable bed, a great view, and to fall asleep to the sound of waves. The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense to me; it’s the kind of place that does the important stuff really well without any unnecessary fuss.

  Location was excellent, few steps from local beach. Motor boat hire, restaurants. Shops and if you have a hire care. You can drive to the old town and other places.

  Situation just a few yards from the beach

  The property was well appointed,well equipped, very comfortable and clean.
  
  What could be improved: A minor issue was it's a bit difficult to find in the dark. Perhaps better instructions and a name on the property would help.

  Location excellent, only about 20 steps to the beach, quiet and private. View of sea from balcony. So much thought had been put into equipping the house so well and meeting our every need!

  The location is perfect, close to all the restaurants, bars and 2 minute walk to Haraki beach, 6 minute drive to Agathi beach. Large fridge freezer for drinks, snacks and ice and well equipped kitchen. Partial sea view which was lovely to watch sitting on the balcony. Set in the heart of the little village the location was peaceful and quiet.
  
  What could be improved: I'm self employed and need to do work while away and attend the virtual online meetings. I stayed here last year and able to use the WI-FI to do this. However this year the Wi-Fi was non existent, it looked as though connected although dropped out every time I tried to use. I let Anna who manages the property in the owners absence know, she was very helpful and arranged for an engineer to visit, who told her the Wi-Fi was being upgraded in the area and a more expensive equipment was needed and until this was purchased the Wi-Fi would not be effective.

  Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet. Es fehlt an nichts. Zudem hatte es von allem einen grösseren Grundstock (Kaffeefilter, Gewürze, Tee etc.) und eine Flasche Wasser und Wein lagen bereits gekühlt im Kühlschrank bereit.
  
  Karen ist zudem eine sehr aufmerksame und äusserst hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Wir hätten uns nicht wohler fühlen können.
  
  Wir waren immer am nahegelegenen Agathi Beach. Einer der schönsten Strände in Rhodos! Wir sind dorthin oft zu Fuss, trotz Auto.

  What could be improved: В будинку було все продумано до дрібниць. Були навіть змінні батарейки до пультів та ваги для багажу. На кухні було багато спецій, масло оливкове, кава та пляшечка вина у холодильнику))). Не вистачало тільки кришки на сковороду.
  Було гучновато від кафе, але так усюди на березі.
