Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places around Rhodes, but Green View Apartment hit different – and honestly, the name doesn’t do it justice. When you’re driving that winding road from Rhodes town toward Kameiros (you know, the one that makes you wonder if your GPS is having a breakdown), you’ll stumble across this gem in Kalavarda that feels like someone’s well-kept secret. The moment I pulled up, I got it – this isn’t your typical tourist trap. Thanasis clearly knows what he’s doing here, and the fact that it’s called “Thanasis 2” makes me think the first one was probably just as good, which honestly makes me curious about the whole operation.

What really got me was how quiet it actually is. I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the sea if you step outside in the evening, but far enough from the main beach chaos that you can actually think. The apartment itself feels lived-in in the best way – like someone actually cares about the details rather than just cramming in as much furniture as possible. The view (which, surprise, is actually green) looks out over olive groves and rolling hills that change color depending on the time of day. Around sunset, everything turns this golden-honey shade that makes you want to grab a glass of wine and just… stay put. The kitchen’s properly equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and a prayer like some places I’ve been. You can actually cook a meal if you want to skip the tavernas for a night, though honestly, with places like Mavrikos just down the road in Lindos, you might not want to.

Here’s what I really appreciated – parking is straightforward (no hunting around narrow streets wondering if you’re about to scrape your rental car), and Thanasis was genuinely helpful without being pushy. He actually knows the area, not just the tourist checklist stuff. When I mentioned wanting to find some decent hiking trails, he pointed me toward paths I never would have discovered otherwise. The whole Kalavarda area is sort of perfectly positioned if you think about it – close enough to ancient Kameiros when you want some history, reasonable drive to Lindos when you want the full postcard experience, but peaceful enough that you remember why you came to Greece in the first place. The only thing that might catch you off guard is how good the Wi-Fi actually is – I ended up getting more work done than planned, which was both a blessing and a curse depending on how you look at it.

  Красивый дом, есть все необходимое, все удобно. Хорошие кровати, постельное белье, полотенца. Горячая вода, туалетная бумага, мыло и шампунь. Очень дружелюбная хозяйка. Минут 10 пешком до пустынного пляжа.

  Krásny priestorný apartmán s veľkými oknami, veľká terasa, kde si môžete vychutnávať raňajky či iné jedlá. Samozrejme je tam teda dobrá klíma i vybavena kuchyňa, kde Pani domáca nechala rozne koreniny, olej a iné potrebné veci . Apartmán je blízko pláže, v blízkosti je tiež miestny obchod, takze sa da v pohode prežiť aj bez auta, no keďže ostrov je maličký, autom sa da dostať všade za velmi krátky čas. Ubytovatelia sú extrémne zlatí a snažia sa spraviť všetko pre vaše pohodlie. Vrelo odporúčam či už rodinke alebo páriku. Krásne prostredie a úžasní ľudia.

  Gorgia est une hôte formidable qui nous a accueilli à bras ouvert avec le sourire et beaucoup de chaleur humaine.
  L'appartement est situé non loin d'un village, à l'opposé de la côte touristique de Rhode et à 20 min de l'aéroport dans un cadre champêtre.
  C'est un lieu parfait si vous êtes véhiculé pour partir à la découverte de l'île.
  L'appartement était très propre et le manque de salon était compensé par la terrasse.
  Rien de fancy dans les équipements mais le nécessaire est là pour faire la cuisine si besoin (vaisselle, condiment, ustensiles).
  Nous étions 4, 2 adultes et 2 enfants de 12 ans et l'espace était amplement suffisant pour ne pas se marcher sur les pieds.
  Au vu du rapport qualité/prix et de la gentillesse de gorgia, vous pouvez réserver son logement les yeux fermé.
  
  What could be improved: Ne pas jeter le papier toilette dans les toilettes mais dans une poubelle à côté ! Mais c'est partout sur l'île 😜

  Appartement vaste lumineux avec une grande terrasse, l'accueil de Georgia est très chaleureux, elle est aux petits soins , nous avons reçu des citrons, mandarines du jardin, un petit souvenir et des biscuits.
  
  What could be improved: Les machines a-à café sont mises là où il n'y a pas de prises. Nous avons déménagé une petite table basse pour les installer de façon plus pratique. Pas de prise dans la salle de bain et miroir mis dans le couloir là où il n'y a pas de prise, il serait utile de le déplacer si on veut de sécher les cheveux. La télé est dans la chambre à deux lits et pas dans la parentale, il serait judicieux d'inverser les lits. Une poêle plate serait pratique…. mais à côté de cela Georgia est tellement serviable que cela devient le principal
