You know what really got me about Grande Blue Suites? It’s tucked away in this quiet corner of Stegna – and I mean properly tucked away, not just marketing speak. When you’re driving through Archangelos towards the coast, you’ll miss the turn if you’re not paying attention. But honestly, that’s part of the charm because once you find it, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something special.

The “private bay” thing isn’t just a fancy name they slapped on – there’s actually this little secluded stretch of water that feels like your own personal swimming pool. I spent way too much time just floating there in the mornings before the day-trippers started showing up at the main Stegna beach down the road. The suites themselves are scattered along the hillside in a way that actually makes sense (you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong), so you’re not staring directly into your neighbor’s breakfast table. Each one has this generous terrace that catches the morning light perfectly – I found myself having coffee out there every single day, watching the fishing boats head out from Archangelos harbor.

What I really appreciated was how they managed to feel upscale without being stuffy about it. The staff genuinely seemed to know the area – like when I asked about hiking trails, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic brochure but actually drew me a little map showing where to park near the old monastery ruins and which path has the best views back towards Lindos. The rooms are spacious in that satisfying way where you can actually unpack your suitcase and not feel cramped, and the kitchenettes are properly equipped (I’m talking real plates, not plastic tourist stuff). Sure, the Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty during peak hours – probably because everyone’s trying to upload their sunset photos at the same time – but that’s hardly a dealbreaker when you’re literally steps from some of the clearest water I’ve seen on Rhodes.

The whole setup just works, you know? It’s far enough from the main tourist chaos in Rhodes Town that you feel like you’re discovering something, but close enough to Archangelos village that you can walk to actual tavernas where locals eat (try the one near the old church – they do this incredible slow-cooked lamb). And if you’re the type who needs to be constantly entertained, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want somewhere to properly unwind, with that perfect balance of comfort and authenticity that’s getting harder to find on the Greek islands, then yeah, this is exactly where you want to be.

  The town is the best area in Rhodes and this is the best hotel! The view from our room was absolutely sensational and the private beach is amazing. There is also a pool which we hadn’t realised. The service from Kostas, his family and staff was faultless and they ate a credit to the hospitality industry in Rhodes. if we didn’t live in Australia we would come back regularly!

  Hugely enjoyed our stay in this little gem. Wonderful location up on the hill with 180 ocean view, quiet, nice hosts, delicious breakfast, great beach for swimming and snorkling and not far from Stegna with more restaurants and small shops. Car recommended.
