You know what caught me off guard about Doris home? I was expecting another cookie-cutter Rhodes accommodation, but honestly, this place feels more like staying at your Greek aunt’s house – if your aunt happened to have impeccable taste and a prime spot on Koloniale Street. The moment I walked up to number 27, I could tell someone actually cares about this place. It’s not trying too hard, but everything just… works.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re right in Rhodes Town, which means you can stumble back from dinner without dealing with taxis or buses, but here’s the thing – Koloniale Street isn’t one of those main drags where you’ll hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM. It’s tucked away enough that you’ll sleep well, but walk five minutes and you’re hitting all the spots you want to see. I mean, the medieval Old Town is practically on your doorstep, and if you’re into that morning coffee ritual (guilty), there are these little cafes nearby where locals actually hang out, not just tourists taking Instagram photos. The parking situation isn’t terrible either, which honestly surprised me – Rhodes Town can be a nightmare for cars, but there are spots if you know where to look.

What really gets me about Doris home is the attention to detail. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that you don’t find in chain hotels – I’m talking about things like decent water pressure (seriously underrated), blackout curtains that actually block light, and furniture that doesn’t feel like it came from a catalog. The breakfast setup is solid too, though don’t expect a massive buffet. It’s more thoughtful than overwhelming, if that makes sense. The staff… well, they’re not hovering over you, but when you need something, they’re genuinely helpful. I had this random question about bus schedules to Lindos, and instead of just handing me a pamphlet, they actually explained which route is faster and when to avoid the crowds. That 9.9 rating isn’t just people being generous – you can feel why guests keep coming back. The whole place has this authentic Greek hospitality vibe without feeling like they’re performing it for tourists. Sure, it’s not the fanciest place on the island, but sometimes you want comfortable and genuine over marble lobbies and pretentious cocktail bars. If you’re the type who values sleep, good coffee, and being able to explore Rhodes without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist bubble, this is your spot.

  This is an absolutely perfect apartment. Incredible service and great hospitality. Everything was very clean, modern and beautiful. The location couldn't be better, close to the beach as well as to the old town. We had an excellent stay. Can recommend 100%

  We have been visiting Greece for 45 years and this was the best apartment we have stayed in throughout that time. It is located in a nice quiet and safe suburban area but yet was only a pleasant ten minute stroll to the gates of the Old Town. There is a big supermarket fifty meters away, a café across the road and another café opposite the supermarket. There are also some restaurants nearby.
  
  Zephyros Beach is a 15 minute stroll from the apartment. This is a soft sandy beach that is far nicer than the crowded Elli Beach in the New Town. It is also much quieter and has some restaurants and cafés across the road.
  
  The apartment is comfortable, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your holiday. The hosts, Eric and Doris, are a lovely couple who met us on arrival and went out of their way to ensure we needed nothing. There was a generous basket of fruit in the fridge together with water, food and wine. They kindly allowed us stay in the apartment until 6.30pm on checkout day as we had a late evening flight. Eric also arranged a taxi to take us to the airport.

  My mom and I had the pleasure of staying at Doris home in Rhodes and it was an exceptional experience. Even though upon arrival the house key broke into the lock Eric the property owner was able to come and get it resolved right away. We were impressed by the warm hospitality, communication and attention to detail. From laundry detergent to mosquito repellents, emergency kits, vacuum cleaner and anything you might need on your vacation.
  
  The property itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated, offering all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. The two bedrooms were very comfortable and living room spacious. The fridge was stocked with wine, juice, fruit and a few other things which was great just in case one was hungry and tired from travel or it was after hours when they first got in. The WiFi signal was steady and strong and the terrace had a nice big table and chairs to relax in the mornings and have a cup of coffee and in the evenings have a nice glass of wine.
  
  The location was ideal, close to a nice super market up the street, a coffee ☕️ shop across the market and even a pharmacy next to it in case a need may rise! The beach was a 15 min walk and it was great if you don’t have a vehicle and old town about 20 min walk making it easy to explore and enjoy all that Rhodes has to offer. The host was incredibly responsive and kind and to top it off there were e-bikes for those who love sight seeing and not putting in as much effort! It was a wonderful addition and bonus since we didn’t have a car.
  
  I highly recommend Doris home to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in Rhodes. It exceeded all our expectations and made our visit truly memorable. I can’t wait to return again. ☺️

  The property was really nice and clean. The host had thought about everything for the guests comfort. The apartment had a really nice patio with a big table and a grill. And the beach was only 5 minute walk away. Definitely worth the money!

  The landlord, Eric, was a very kind person. When we arrived by ferry, he proposed to take us from there to the house and he did:-). The house was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable. Eric had put wine, fruits, toast bread, cheese and ham, and water in the refrigerator for us. This was marvelous. The house location was very convenient, it took a 10-minute walk to the downtown of Rhodes. We loved the house so much, we will certainly come again and stay there. Thanks for everything.
