So I stumbled across DASÝLIO during my third trip to Rhodes, and honestly, I wish I’d found this place years ago. It’s tucked away on Argonauts Street in Triánta – which, if you know the area, puts you just far enough from the main tourist chaos but close enough to actually get places without spending your vacation budget on taxis. The name means something like “little forest” in Greek, and when you see the place, you’ll get why they went with that.

The whole “earthy living homes” thing isn’t just marketing speak – they actually mean it. Walking into my room felt like stepping into someone’s carefully curated Mediterranean hideaway, not a sterile hotel box. The materials are all natural stone and wood, and there’s this subtle smell of olive wood and herbs that just makes you exhale properly for the first time in months. You know what really got me though? The attention to small stuff. Like, the bathroom tiles are this gorgeous local stone that stays cool under your feet even in the afternoon heat, and the windows actually open wide (revolutionary concept, I know) so you can get proper cross-ventilation going.

Location-wise, you’re about a ten-minute walk to Ialyssos Beach, which is honestly one of the better stretches of coast on this part of the island – way less crowded than the stuff closer to Rhodes Town. The owners clearly know their neighborhood because they’ve got this little hand-drawn map with actual useful spots marked on it, not just the touristy ones. There’s a family taverna called Kostas about two blocks down that serves the best grilled octopus I’ve had outside of Crete, and a little bakery on the corner where you can grab proper tiropita for breakfast if you want to skip the hotel spread.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, the breakfast situation at DASÝLIO is solid – they do this thing with local honey and yogurt that’s pretty addictive – but sometimes you just want to wander around like a local, you know? The staff gets that too. Check-in was refreshingly human; the guy at the front desk (Nikos, I think?) actually asked what I was hoping to do and gave me real recommendations, not just the standard “visit the Acropolis” routine.

The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be a flashy resort with infinity pools and marble everywhere – it’s just really, really good at being what it is. The rooms are quiet (you might hear some morning birds, but that’s about it), the air conditioning works without sounding like a helicopter, and the WiFi is actually fast enough to video call home. Small victories that matter when you’re traveling.

If I had to pick one thing that sets this place apart, it’s that it feels intentional. Like someone put real thought into what would make travelers feel at home rather than just impressed. The kind of place where you end up extending your stay if you can swing it, and where you’ll definitely remember the name for next time.

  A villa with a swimming inside a forest. It is what you expect from the photos posted in Booking. It is ideal for using it as a base point to explore the island. The host are helpful and discreet.
  
  What could be improved: It is hard to find anything wrong with it. Only caution is that calmness of the place depend how respectful the other visitors are, due to close proximity of 3 apartments.

  Groß, familienfreundlich, freundliche Familie die sich um das das Apartment kümmert, viele Sport- und Spielmöglichkeiten, sauber, umweltfreundlich, viel Obst und Kräuter, schnelles und extrem freundliches Hosting
  
  What could be improved: Für zwei Familien wäre ein bisschen mehr Geschirr toll. Aber auf Nachfrage gab es welches. Ist zu vernachlässigen. Alles super!

  Wir haben im unteren Apartment "Emerald" unseren einwöchigen Urlaub verbracht und waren durch und durch sehr zufrieden mit unserer Wahl der Unterkunft. Die im Wald stehende und im Jahr 2021 erbaute Villa besteht aus zwei Apartments für 4-6 Personen sowie aus der anderen großen Hälfte für 10-12 Personen.
  Die Unterkunft selbst war schön modern, mit liebe zum Detail, eingerichtet und wirklich sehr sauber.
  Vor Ort hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Wir hatten einen Grill, Küchenzubehör, Fön, Bügeleisen, Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine und vieles mehr. Die Gastgeberin Maria (Mutter von Eigentümerin Rachel) und ihre Kollegen haben uns freundlich empfangen und über die Tage, die wir dort verbracht haben, sich um unser Wohlergehen gekümmert. Auch die riesen Grünfläche, die Pools, der Tennis- und Fußballplatz und der kleine Fitnessbereich wurden gepflegt, man hatte nie Langeweile. Unser Außenbereich hat 5 sehr bequeme und große Liegen zum sonnen, Sonnenschirme, einen großen Esstisch sowie eine Sitzlounge. Von der Villa aus ist man mit dem Auto innerhalb von 10 Minuten bei einem Supermarkt oder Restaurant und nur 20 Minuten von der Altstadt Rhodos entfernt. Parkplätze sind vor Ort vorhanden. Ein Auto wäre unserer Meinung nach ratsam.
  Wir empfehlen die Unterkunft und sollten wir wieder Urlaub auf Rhodos machen, dann in dieser Villa.

  Spokój, czystość, piękny i zadbany ogród, przestronność domu i tarasu. Dom znajduje się na uboczu i daje poczucie intymności i swobody. Bardzo sympatyczna i uczynna właścicielka. Mnóstwo zieleni i drzew dawało wytchnienie w upalne dni.

  Que dire, il y a tant à écrire de positif!
  
  Un accueil chaleureux à notre arrivée par Maria, une visite des lieux et de notre location..rien à dire tout y était (du barbecue, au fer à repasser en passant par un lave linge, lave vaisselle, accessoires de cuisine, sèche cheveux …) bref au top. On ne manquait de rien.
  La piscine nettoyée tous les jours, le jardin les espaces verts les arbres fruitiers entretenus chaque jours également (bananier, manguier, palmier…)
  
  L’espace commun de sport avec tout pour se remettre en forme en plein air, le terrain de foot, la table de PingPong, de quoi ne pas s’ennuyer et aussi beaucoup de transats au super confort pour de la détente absolue.
  4 locations en 1, aucun bruit, tout le monde se respecte, et respecte le rythme de vie de chacun.
  Maria et son mari sont super bienveillants, toujours là si l’on a besoin.
  Des vacances de rêve, des souvenirs plein la tête, des enfants heureux et excités et nous des étoiles plein les yeux.
  Nous sommes a 15 min de la ville de Rhodes, a 5 min du supermarché des restos etc…
  Je pense oublier encore plein de choses mais j’ai dit le principal.
