Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about D’Andrea Mare Hotel? It’s tucked right at the end of Timokreontos Street in Ialyssos, which honestly sounds more dramatic than it is – but that location actually works in your favor. I mean, you’re far enough from the main strip to avoid the late-night chaos, but close enough that you can walk to decent tavernas without breaking a sweat. The whole setup feels deliberately low-key, which I appreciated after staying at some of those flashier resort complexes that try too hard.

The 4-star rating feels spot-on here – it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, but what they do, they do well. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no aggressive upselling), and the staff actually knew the area when I asked about hiking trails up toward Filerimos. That 8.8 rating makes sense once you settle in because the details add up. The rooms are properly air-conditioned – crucial during those sweltering July afternoons when even locals disappear indoors. I stayed on the third floor and could catch glimpses of the Aegean between the pine trees, though honestly, the courtyard pool area became my preferred spot for morning coffee. There’s something about the way the light hits the water around 7 AM that just works, you know?

What I really liked was how the place operates on Greek time without making you feel rushed or forgotten. Breakfast runs later than most hotels (smart, considering how late everyone eats dinner here), and the pool stays lively until sunset when the nearby church bells start their evening rounds. The beach is maybe a 10-minute walk down the hill – not the most Instagram-worthy stretch of sand, but the water’s clean and there’s usually space to spread out. Parking was never an issue, which anyone who’s driven around Rhodes in summer will tell you is practically miraculous. If I’m being completely honest, the WiFi gets a bit spotty during peak hours, and the shower pressure could be better, but these feel like minor complaints when you’re paying reasonable rates for a genuinely comfortable stay. The whole experience just felt… authentic, I guess? Like they’re running a proper hotel for people who want to enjoy Rhodes without all the tourist theater.

A Truly Wonderful Stay – Perfect for Families

I recently stayed at this lovely hotel as a single mum with my 3-year-old, and I can honestly say it was one of the most heartwarming and positive experiences I’ve had while traveling.

As any parent knows, traveling with a toddler can be challenging—but from the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, welcome, and safe. Every single team member—from the reception to the bar staff—was kind, patient, and genuinely caring.

A special mention goes to the catering team, especially the manager, who was truly exceptional. The food was not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious, with something for everyone to enjoy.

And the animation team—what can I say? They were simply amazing. My little one absolutely adored them. Their warmth, energy, and attentiveness made such a difference to our holiday. It’s not easy to gain the trust and affection of a 3-year-old, but they did it effortlessly.

This hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place where people care. I left with a full heart and lasting memories, and I will definitely consider coming back in the future.

Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special

What could be improved: Nothing , everything was perfect

  • Natasa from Serbia – 26 May 2025 (9/10)

  • Jana from Slovakia – 17 May 2025 (9/10)

Very friendly and helpful receptionist Kostas. We did our reservation 30 minutes before our arrival at ~1 am (our flight has been cancelled) and there was no problem. the hotel is close to the airport (~10 minutes), tasty breakfast, spacious rooms, nice swimmingpool and the area around. Playground for kids in the shadow.

  • Alexandru from United Kingdom – 15 May 2025 (9/10)

The location is perfect, between airport and the town of Rhodes. Very good food, and the staff was amazing.

  • Nikola from North Macedonia – 29 October 2024 (9/10)

The hotel was great and the staff was incredibly nice! We got a very good and solid room for the price that we paid (sea view even though we didn't pay for that).
The food was excellent, there were many choices to choose from, the drinks on all inclusive were decent!
The beach was beautiful and had an amazing view of the sunset, the water was warm and we enjoyed it. The pool was also warm and clean!
There was a great animation team, every hour there was something exciting and fun to do, the evening's that they hosted were unbelievable and the animation team had a lot of energy till the end of the day and still were up for anything!
I would like to give a special thanks to Felix ( the leader of the animation team ) for giving a shoutout to my daughter because it was her birthday and he really made that night special for her!
The hotel was more than we expected! We loved and really enjoyed our stay there, and we are definitely going to stay there again!!!

What could be improved: Nothing, everything was great. The hotel was amazing. The weather was good.

  • Artis from United Kingdom – 27 October 2024 (9/10)

    We loved it.
It's perfect for families. We arrived around 11pm and reception staff came outside to greet us, so we were looked after from the minute we arrived.
    Animation team was great.

What could be improved: Only downside was that it wasn't clear if dining area outside is ' no smoking' zone or not as some people were smoking in that area. As this is a hotel for families would suggest that smoking and no smoking zones are separated.
